Jan Koller is pure dead weight. I think I saw him break into a brisk saunter maybe once before being taken off. And for a guy thats what? At least 7 inches taller than Switzerland's tallest defender didnt win the ball in the air once?

Furthermore, did Baros sleep with Bruckner's wife or what? Koller gets yanked after 55 and the sub isnt Baros.

Being a German fan I'm hoping the Czechs lose this game, and overall I think the Swiss have been the much better team. The Czechs havent even made the Swiss keeper sweat which is odd because the Czechs should be the better team. Granted, the saves Cech has had to make havent been all that spectacular either.

Also, I'm hoping the Swiss win this for Frei, it wasnt a vicious challenge or anything, but the grin on Grygera's face after he injured Frei makes me want the Swiss to win even more.

It was a nice goal. There was a Czech player offside but he wasnt in the play and the Swiss defence expected a call. Unfortunate for them to go down like that.

No kidding. Not to mention the non-call on the blatant Czech handball in the goal area. That should have been a penalty.

CZE had one scoring chance.

SUI deserved at least a tie.

The second one shouldnt have been a penalty, but the first one should have been, I could understand the argument that since it was the same player both times the call could have been made on the second infraction.

The Swiss were the much better team, but just couldnt score. I think the Swiss were hard done by with this result.

I think this result really opens the door for the Turks though, the Czechs looked very beatable. Not an impressive game from them at all.

But the right call was made, the player offsied had nothing to do with the play.

It was a nice goal.

The Czechs didn't look good at all, but I expected an excelletn effort from the Swiss. They were good in the world cup and they were playing in front of there home crowd.

The Czechs got a good old fashioned road victory. That being said they will have to be better against Portugal.

Maybe they will have to switch from the 4-5-1 to more of an attacking formation.

Bruckner with the great substitution, everythign was probably expecting Baros and no he puts in sverkos. Maybe Sverkos will have a breakout tourney like Baros did in 04. Only time will tell. Bruckner knows hiw boys.

Czechs got away with one handball, but nevertheless the swiss can only blame themselves for not equalizing only seconds later. The second handball was more of a shoulder and his shoulder was tight with his chest. That was the right call.

They did have more than one, but that being said the Swiss did play well. I don't care this was a road game for the Czechs, so it's an excellent victory in my book.

The last one was a good call when your arm is tight with your chest its not considered a handball.

meh, he was bringing his arm in, it could have gone either way. once again, the swiss should have scored on one or more of their many good opportunities.

I agree with home field advantage the swiss played like it. There is a reason the swiss team qualified for the last world cup and made it to the round of 16. They are a good soccer club. They will play well against Portugal and Turkey.

I agree, I'd like to see Baros and Koller back up front to start the game, and bring it sverkos off the bench again for either Koller or Baros depending on how the game is going.

I'm looking forward to this Portugal - Turkey game starting soon.

I'm thinking Portugal will come out on top 2-1 today. I'm hoping for a Turkey win though.

I'm not sure Portugal understands the offside rule, seriously.

There is zero flow to this game, both teams preferring to hit the turf. No surprise from the Portuguese.

Edit: Brilliant free kick from C. Ronaldo.

Wow, I don;t know what you guys who are whining about the diving were watching??!?!?! Was there a couple dives, sure, more from the Turks, but Christ, find me a game where someone doesn't dive. YOU CAN"T. I thought it was a pretty good game. Portugal had plenty of the ball, 2 posts, 1 cross bar, they were full marks for the win.

I apologoize for my original post where I said the Czechs wouldn't win a game. I was wrong, but the Czechs didn't look good in the game whatsoever. Swiss deserved a much better fate, they got screwed on the non calls, the first one was ridiculously blatant. I still believe the Czechs won't get thru, I just don't see anything there. No chance they beat Portugal on Wednesday.

FORCA PORTUGAL!!!!
