Women with round or squarish faces look best with long hair, which softens their looks. Women with triangular, or even better, oval faces look good with either type, so you're in luck (oval) and can go either way, and if you think your face is attractive, shorter hair (or long hair pinned up) accentuates the face.
Most of the girls in the Hottie Draft have long hair because their biggest assets are their bodies; there are plenty of girls in there with pretty but forgettable faces.

How short is short. Buzz cut or close screams lesbo, normal short hair doesnt IMO.
Although my experience with lesbians is admittedly limited. I am always willing to broaden my horizons though
IMHO this != Raging lesbian.

I don't care how long a woman's hair is. As long as she's got enough of it so that I have something to grab on to when I'm dragging her back to my cave, we're good.

Okay. You're crazy. While you're licking the carpet, I'm gonna be licking her!

Okay, I want to address the lesbian/short hair issue. I think if you wear it really really short and wear no makeup then you can definately look gay. I think if you put yourself out there like a girl, with makeup and styled hair, you don't look lesbian at all. I guess that's how it used to be, but I've worn my hair short almost all my life and I've only ever been hit on by one lesbo! and I had nooo problem getting guys either. So if you wanna cut it, cut it!

I don't think it's the hair that totally makes someone fit the lesbian stereotype... I think it's the plaid flannel shirt, shorts and steel toed boots that make me think think the girl "plays for the other team"
(or wearing any item of mens clothing...)

Guess I might be one of the few that prefers short hair. But it has to be cut right. Like that girl on the OC and also entourage I thought she was smoking hot. I guess as someone put it earlier short=cute and long=beautiful. I prefer cute.

Most women seem to think this way - and then also often automatically think it must match what guys think, at least to a degree. (The 'lesbo part' is not really core here, just whether it attracts men or not v. long hair)
But it doesn't. FEW guys think like that.
But girls dress for other girls, they assess their make-up based on other girls, so i guess they assume they should to their hair for other girls too?
There must be things that a medium sized group of guys do that they think 100% attracts women but most women agree is a total turn-off?
Claeren.

I've only read the first post, and I'll respond to that:
Long hair on a girl is a great and safe look. I don't think I ever met a girl that couldn't pull off long hair.
That said, *if* the girl can pull off short hair, it makes her look about a million times hotter. Now my definition of short hair would be down to the bottom of her ears, top of her neck. If you mean short like a guy's short, definitely hard to pull off, I can't really think of an example where a girl keeps her hair that short.

See, I agree that chick from Entourage (Samaire Armstrong) is the rare type that looked good with short hair:
But it is because she is so damn hot the short hair is negated by her hotness. She looks as good or better this long hair though:
At the risk of that short hair sometimes looking horrible:
And as a general rule, her best 'short hair' pics are really into the medium range. (And while she is attractive i am not sure her hair is her best feature - chin, jawline, cheeks, lips?)
I really need to find something else to do! lol

Unfortunately, this has led to me being attracted to far too many lesbians. Or at least women telling me that they are lesbians.... *ponders*

Keep in mind this post is coming from someone who picked the screename "Devils'Advocate". There's a nuance there, but it's also a bit of a pun.
Somethings new to consider: Short hair may make you look like a lesbian, but also, it's mainly older women / mom's who have short hair. You don't want to fall into those stereotypes either.
For me, long hair is hotter, but I hate bangs. So grow them out with the rest of your hair, or as quickly as possible after.

I don't recall the conversation. In addition, I was just confirming suspicions. So yeah.

The thing I like about short, if the face can pull it off, is that it shows a confidence level I like. Long is safe, and really long often indicates an insecurity about themselves (IMO).
A girl that is willing to go short signals a certain non-conservative attitude (and I'm not talking about political leanings).
But it does have to be the right kind of face--my wife is very good looking, with long hair, but I don't think her face is right for short.

GOAT!

In order to be a lesbian, short hair is not enough. There must also be a lumber jacket and a pair of army boots.
Aside from that, however, hair should be long... and wet... but definitely long.
