This may not help you, but I had Sam Adams in St. Maarten in the Caribbean, and I was not impressed. Tasted like someone sharted in my mouth.

Check the liquor catalog, as far as I recall(and that was 3 years ago) there was only one kind of Sam Adams available in Alberta

I'm not really sure why Sam Adams is revered by so many Americans, personally I think it's one of the worst beer's I've ever had. There are a lot better options out there.

I would check with the Willow Park liquor store. Even if they don't stock it; if it's available they can get it in for you.

It is not very good. Better than Bud Light or Miller Lite which seems to be staple down there. I discovered Yuengling when I was down there and that is what I drink when I go to the east coast every year.

Yuengling is sort of like the Heineken of American beer for me....good for those times when you want something decent, but not looking to experiment or pay higher prices. It's a great fallback.

No, not neccessarily, but i find they both sort of have the same qualities of being a beer that doesnt really have too much of a discernable flavour or aftertaste. It's very drinkable, if not memorable.

Is it me or is Heineken completely bi-polar: it either tastes really good or it's got a kind of skunk musk to it.
I think it has to do with how long it's been shelved. Any time I've bought it from the beer stores in Calgary or Ontario it's been touch and go. But when I've bought it in New York or Boston it's tasted really good. Conclusion: New York and Boston are more cultured than Calgary and South-West Ontario (I kid I kid).

that's quite the ass-umption. I know Heineken gets a lot of rap, but I do stand by it being a decent beer considering it's competition. It's definitely not my favourite (that would probably either be Boddingtons, Newcastle or basically anything from the Czech Republic), but its one of the better ones out of all the gigantor breweries out there. Would you rather have a Coors?

I agree, it does tend to be hit and miss at times....more misses when off the shelf. The same is true for another brewery around here, Brooklyn Lager.

those were good times. apparently however they don't have unlimited beer at the end of the tour anymore...which sort of renders the tour useless.

I tried Sam Adams based on the hype alone but I wasn't impressed. I wouldn't recommend it at all.
