Hasn't there been a whole slew of Amazon Tribe hoaxes over the years? Have to admit, that's my first thought.
Even the august journal, The Nation Geographic, has fallen for these things.

The myth that people lived better lives before technology is perniciously influential; the fact (as attested by studies of groups making that transition out of this state) is that violence in such societies is endemic, life expectancies are short, and women are little more than chattel.
This doesn't mean that contact with more technologically advanced societies aren't cataclysmic experiences in which these peoples are to various degrees exploited, killed, or enslaved, but that is an unfortunate commentary on human nature in general rather than any sort of recommendation for a primitivist way of life.

Imagine hiking through the jungle and coming up on a tribe like this. At first it would be amazing then it would be like am I going to die?

I am from a fly-in community in Northwestern Ontario, the future came very fast for us, we got our Hydro and plumbing in the early 80's, us kids were always playing outside until television came.

Fair enough. I just disagree with the suggestion that these people will be "pissed" with anyone who tried to protect their chosen way of life and keep them ignorant of the modern miracles of electricity and air conditioning.

I'll be disappointed if that is the case here.

The Curious Tribe captures a unique anthropological experiment in which award-winning reporter Donal MacIntyre hosts five members of the Insect Tribe of Papua New Guinea in his London home. Turning the tables on MacIntyre's previous visit to the tribe's jungle in Papua New Guinea, the tribe members swap their war paint for sweaters and travel to Britain to satisfy their own curiosities about the British way of life.
The Curious Tribe is a look at the ordinary things Western society takes for granted. The tribesmen experience England and its culture for the first time and through their eyes we begin to discover that some of our own customs and eccentricities are every bit as ritualized as theirs. Snow, escalators, beds, and football are just a few of the things the tribe members encounter in this eye-opening series.

Agreed.
As for the photo. It's remarkable (if true?), and let's just leave these people alone. Yes we can banter all day about the injustice of denying them air conditioning. But let's face it, there are billions of people around the world living without our precious conditioned air as it is. How about we sort out there -- and our -- problems first before thinking we have to solve these people's problems as well.

How much of a prick do you need to be to photograph those people without their permission. That has ######bag written on it on so many levels I cannot begin to start.

I think the people taking the pictures have no desire to bother them. If you read the article in the one link the prick (uncontacted tribes expert) who was part of the group taking pictures was talking about how they were in danger of coming in contact with illegal logging, and was trying to show people that these tribes are out there, and is trying to help get their land protected through these pictures.
