He's exactly what the Jays have been lacking the past few years. A competent bench player who can play anywhere in the infield and be a decent stop-gap solution during injuries or days off. A sizable upgrade over guys like Royce Clayton, Howie Clark, Jason Smith, Ray Olmedo, Russ Adams, Frank Menechino, etc.

now if he could only hit for average like craig grebeck! oh well.
great win for the jays today. beauty series.

Good stuff, they're right in the race and have hit like little leaguers. J.P still has to add a bat to get this team into the post season, but damn that pitching staff is fantastic.

almost lost it, looked at my guide and it said they were televising Baltimore and Boston. I hate it when they don't show Halliday's games. It is indeed the Jays game on Bell. Whew!

Rios with a fantastic catch, Barajas tags out a runner at home on the previous play, 1-1 after 6.

8 innings for Halladay, 1 run. Come on Jays, get some offense here and get Doc the win.

He's easily the best on the Jays broadcats. I wish they'd bring him on fulltime.
Nice win from the Jays. This series is about what you'd expect from these two teams.

Yeah, A's have the best pitching in the AL and MLB I think. They're getting even less hitting than the Blue Jays but still have a very solid record. I thought last night showed exactly why AJ Burnett can't take the next step and get results that equal his talent. He's cruising along okay and than he walks a guy with two outs on 4 straight pitches. Next thing you know it's 3-0 Oakland. He just can't buckle down and get it done like really good pitchers can. Hence his ERA being over 4.5 and his mediocre W-L record despite having great stuff. Shawn Marcum on the other hand doesn't have stuff like Burnett, but he seems to be able to get it done.
Still Halladay is just a horse for the Jays. Even if they can only post a 4-5 record on this road trip I think they'd still be in pretty good shape when they get home.
