Default Buying a Wii very hard.

So I'm thinking of buying a Wii, but it's so hard to find. Like it's been out for two years and it's hard to find.

In stock at Amazon.ca right now.

http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B000...SIN=B0009VXBAQ

And if not, you can use Console Watch to keep tabs on online retailers. That, or just ask / wait at a local Best Buy / Walmart / whatever.

Walked by HMV in TD Square the other day and they had a big yellow sign proclaiming that they had Wii consoles in stock. Whole bunch at Superstore 2 weekends ago - when I got mine.

HMV is by far the best place to find Wii's. On the family day long weekend my girlfriend and I phone every single "electronics store/department" in the city. Something like 40-50 place and HMV was the only place with Wiis. And not just at one location, but at least three.

I'd recommend there before anywhere else. They also have a great selection of peripherals.

The trick is to not shop at the places with lineups outside the door on Friday mornings. Go to places that most people don't think of going.

(ie: HMV, etc)

When did that EB Games open? I worked at the Coast Mountain up there last summer and never noticed it.

In December, so you wouldn't have seen it.

Wouldn't it be a bit embarrassing when buying a Wii very hard?

Do they do any extended warranties?

According to a Toys 'R' Us insert in the Herald today each location in the city will have 20 minimum in stock and will allow only 1 unit sold per family, which should cut down on the number of units lost to those families that need like 5 Wiis.

I think there's 3 TRUsses in the city, that means 60 units. Can there really still be 60 families in Calgary that are Wii-less?

I think the odds are in your favor that finding a Wii will become flaccid.

I believe amazon.ca has some in stock too if you're willing to wait a week or so for it to arrive.

I am hunting for a console tomorrow.
Any tips now that the buzz seems to have settled down a bit?

Check Zellers out, I've been there a few times and have seen one or two consoles each time
