New King's X album is out today.

Which is brilliant as expected, actually far better than their past few releases.

Just read that one of my favourite bands, Okkervil River, will be releasing their fifth LP in September. I know it's not exactly 'upcoming', but hey... let a guy be excited will ya?!?

Anyone picked up that new Green Day album under their pseudo name? As well as the new Sam Roberts, would love to hear your comments on these.

So far she's got a 61 on Metacritic.

However, the Globe and Mail is not so kind:

Ultimately she comes across as a touch slow, as if she'd been hit in the head with a blunt object before she got to the studio.

Or, at least, as if she should have been.
That's a horrific album.

and strangely enough, the whole venture has been organized and marketed by Starbucks... which seems so antithetical to the Sonic Youth aesthetic. The times they are-a-changin'...

Aye, she certainly sounds a touch slow. What a weird song.

I think Miss Johannsson was listening to some old Sinead O'Connor albums and figured "I can do that". She can't, but I guess she's got the clout to at least try.

That is a cool video though. Cool in a weird sort of way. What the hell was Salman Rushdie doing there?

Deloused is one of the best albums of the decade. So, yea, get it.

Has anyone picked up Puscifer "V is for Vagina"?

Pretty cool stuff. Kind of nasty, electronica sorta thing. Hard to explain..It's like a cross between a David Lynch movie and a porno.

Can't wait..they are one of if not the best band in the world right now. Dying to see them live.

They're playing a four hour late night set at Bonnaroo. I think it'll be the highlight of my weekend there.
