Yeah, Forrest Whitaker was involved in my very own 'gay or not gay' episode (and yes I hate that nonsense on the radio, but this is kind of a funny story.)
So I won some tickets to a movie premiere back in the day, and I didn't have a girlfriend at the time. Now the passes were for Benny and Joon, which I wasn't particularly interested in seeing, so I asked a buddy to come along, and we could walk into one of the other shows. So we get to the theater and nothing looked great, but we say that the Crying Game was playing and the 'secret' wasn't out in public knowledge yet. I had heard something about it involving the IRA so we thought that it might be okay. The first 10-15 minutes were pretty much what we expected, but after that it was rather different to say the least. It was interesting enough that we stuck through the whole movie, but were pretty shocked at the unveiling....
Anyway, after we got out of the movie, I thought, 'so that was Forrest Whitaker's character's girlfriend, wow'. It was kind of a brave role for Forrest at the time.
My buddy still razzes me about that one. Turns out Benny and Joon wasn't a half-bad movie either.

That's funny, I almost referenced Mikey Damone in the ticket broker thread the other day, but thought the reference might be too obscure and didn't want to go tracking down an image.

His cameo in Color of Money is great as well. Even in his cheesy movies, he rules. I'm a big fan of him.

No, but a powerful performance nonetheless.

Never, never hold back on obscure references around here. Someone will get it and appreciate it!
