Calgary Dining
I need some suggestions, as tomorrow is my wife an my 2nd anniversary. Why the last minute? Babysitter.
We're looking for fancy, but not expensive. I was thinking the Panorama Room at the top of the Calgary Tower, but according to their website, they are closed until summer 08 due to renos.
Any suggestions?

The restaurant has a lot of cool dishes and the pub below is a nice place to grab some drinks.

The wife and I have enjoyed a special occasion or two here. It's pretty nice in the spring/summer with the outdoor patio.

Van Gogh's in Valley Ridge.
Food is reasonably priced, and you get A LOT of food. None of this pay $100 for a piece of green and a small piece of steak.
The Cajun Caesar Salad is the greatest thing ever.
Souvlaki pita meal with feta is awesome
Cafe Ribs if you want to nibble..
mmmmmmm....

Rob Feenie is now working with Cactus Club. If the menu is anything like Lumiere in Vancouver then the food should be awesome

Fancy and not expensive means not downtown.
Redwater is supposed to be very good I've heard.
There's some great Indian places in the NE that are kinda fancy but different and not that pricey. Names escape me at the moment.

Go do Da'Guido's on Centre Street. Some of the best Italian food and the prices range from 13 dollars for a huge dish of pasta to 25-28 for a entree. Probably my favourit place in Calgary

For a fancy restaurant, that is actually average, or slightly above average in this city. Downtown restaurants are a lot more expensive than the Rouge.

La Vienna (sp?) on Kensington Road is incredible as well. It is kinda shady cause its by a gas station, but the food is AMAZING.
