Default Shaw Cable Signal Amplifier??

I am running too much stuff through our shaw Cable line. (Telephone, Internet, 2 HDTV boxs, treadmill with tv, and another 2 rooms with cable line, 1 with an old TV)

Does anyone know a way to boost/strengthen the signal? Anyone work for Shaw who knows how they do it?

I imagine there is some sort of amplification box that the main line feeds into and then is distributed. Where does one find one? I tried googling this but I am not sure what all the specs indicate.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Phone them, they'll come stall an amplification box, free of charge. I just got one a few weeks ago, it greatly improved my internet connection.

They installed mine in my garage, where my main cable feed is.

The key to buying any splitter is not to cheap out. The $1.99 ones work OK for splitting 2 13" TVs. If you are using a passive splitter, get the $10-20 ones that say for satellite (even though they aren't)

For TV distribution through the house I use this one, however I am distributing the output from my Bell receivers.

what problems are you having? slow internet, TV degradation, poor voice quality, etc? any of those problems can have a service call booked for them and a tech will install an amp if needed to clean everything up

I've always thought that I had TV degradation. I've always had a problem getting two specific channels and the channels are fuzzy in two separate ranges of channels from time to time. When I had I first had my cable hooked up and was having problems with my internet one of the cable guys who came out told me that he could clean it up and he did, but it wasn't perfect and he said that he can't do anymore that its just they way it is. It got worse over time.

I think I'll call again. My internet has been OK over the past couple of nights now though.

Thanks Guys.

The problem I am having is one of the 2 HDTV's the picture is fuzzy, and the Shaw on Demand screen doesnt show up on the menu. I will call for a service call. I mean they own me utilities wise so they better step up.

that could be a problem with the DCT itself and not the cable signal. have you tried connecting the cable directly to the TV to see if the picture is any clearer? if it is the box, something as simple as sending a refresh signal to it could clear up the problems, though if not a swap would be needed
