How to buy Yankee tickets?
My brother and I will be in NY from Wednesday June 4th to Saturday June 7th.
We plan to take in at least one Yankees game. The tickets directly from the Yankees seem to be sold out for every game.
How does one go about getting tickets? Is stubhub the only option? how about scalpers right on site?
I'm also looking for location information. Where should we sit? Ive only been to one MLB game (The Marlins) and we sat behind home plate. I wasnt a big fan of sitting behind the mesh. I'm thinking somewhere on the first or third base side would be better. Can someone with Yankee Stadium experience lend me a little advice?
Thanks!

One of my co-workers manages to get red sox tickets fairly cheap on stubhub every time he has to go to Boston.
Maybe try there....

There's a really good ticket broker here in Calgary, I have his card. I know he's really good at getting reasonably priced (obvioulsy they're above face value for sold out events, but still cheaper then Stubhub etc) tickets for events and sports in Calgary and across Canada. I'll give him a call tomorrow and see if he does Yankees tickets, if he does I'll pm you his number.
BTW He also delivers tickets in person to anywhere in Calgary.

We were in New York back in August '02 and caught a Yankees game. Didn't pre-order tickets at all, I just went to the Ticketmaster in midtown Manhattan(for some reason I remember it being in an HMV or whatever the American equivalent to that was) the day before the game and got them no problem, about $30 a-piece(not bad seats either). Unless its someone like the Red Sox, I wouldn't worry about it selling out. Usually big crowds, but with 81 home games a season, sellouts aren't the regular. For example, when we went they were takin on the Athletics, who at the time were the #2 team in the AL(the Yanks were #1), so this was a possible ALCS matchup. Plus it was a Friday night, so that's always a big crowd. And we still got tix no problem.
PS- there's always scalpers too. They're everywhere, we saw em around the Subway stations when we got off.

Stubhub isn't nearly as expensive as you would think. I got a ticket about 12th row on the 3rd base line last October against the Indians in game 3 for about 100 bucks. Face value was about $64, so it wasn't all that bad. Well worth it, that's for sure.

Really? The Yankees website is showing all the games from now through June as sold out.
We are there while the Jays are playing, or the Royals later in the week. We figured we may as well see the Jays.

Ya, this year is different because Yankee stadium is closing...everyone and their mom wants to be there.

I got mine for this summer of ticketmaster - sorry to say. In the past I've gotten them directly from the numerous scalpers outside Yankee Stadium. I've also had a great deal of success buying MLB tickets off of eBay.
I've always preferred the first base side to the third base side though I suppose they're about equal, so it's just a personal preference thing.
If you're looking for a rowdy-er, more loud experience, try to side in the right field seats near sections 37 and 39 which is where the "Bleacher Creatures" sit.

I've got mine, count me in as part of the baseball pilgrimage to NY this summer, however PM sent as I could use the number for other sporting events.

I've been to many stadiums and more often than not I buy tickets from folks selling them out front (scalpers). They have always been relatively cheap.

So is this ticket process the same when it comes to NFL games? Looking to check one out this year, and am curious as to how I should go about getting tickets.

I used Stubhub to get Yankees tickets for tomorrow night. Paid $40 for face-value $30 tickets. Yankees vs. Mets. Man, I hope it's not raining.

I'll second this...there are plenty of other ballparks to go to at some point for the best seats in the house...but my only trip to Yankee stadium we were in the RF bleachers and I wouldn't trade that experience

Just whatever you do when you're there, DON'T start/participate in "the wave". Some dudes in front of us started doing it, so we joined in. Then some big bald dude in a Yankees jersey, with a gruff Brooklyn accent turned and glared at us and said "Don't do the f***** wave, that s*** is Shea!" Priceless!!

Hmm...I dunno, maybe we just got lucky that one day. Ya definitely if you wanna play it safe you may as well get em in advance through Stubhub, Ticketmaster, etc, its probably a good idea. I just thought I'd let ya know that at the one game we saw there, I had no probs gettin em the day before the game.
