I think our manager or Captain was chosen when the ump at the first game said "Who's your Captain?" and we all looked at him stunned and then quickly pointed to Sportsjunky.

Who promptly answered the Ump's call with a beer in one hand and a smoke in the other and politely called out:
"Whaddya want?"
Thats called leadership folks. Iginla could learn a few things from our fearless leader Sportsjunky.

By the way, it is Wednesday and my more serious ball team plays tonight. I am injured, and two guys have decided to make the long weekend really long. So, I am looking for a spare for tonight. Once again it should be a guy, and I would prefer an outfielder.
Would also prefer a SWer, but am not that fussy. Temporary User did well for my team before. Flameskickass has also played well for Swing, Baby.
If several are interested I will provide a skill testing question...

Edit: Optimist 600 and 730, double header.

I dunno, I decided to call and make sure because it seemed like it was oddly quick compared to how long they told me when I dropped them off. She said Art got too excited about finishing the screening process and dropped you a line saying to pick them up... instead of taking them to get gorilla pressed. Good thing I called though because I was almost out the door to get them when she called back.

Again this most excellent of tournaments is June 6 7 8. So far KevinGuy, Kerplunk, Resolute and possibly FireFly are in. Temp User might have interest, 4x4 could be swayed when he has no class (  ).
There is another team in the league that also couldn't field a full team, so they are out, but if they indicate some might want to come out, you might be able to field a squad afterall.
As this is a 6 and 4 tournament, having sufficient ladies is a must. Can't remember if Chid and or RinkRat (or any others) have said they couldn't make it.
Come on folks. It's 20 bucks. Camping is free. Big party on Saturday night. I've spent over 10 grand just on the sound system!
Who else would be in?

What time on the 6th? Is it the kind of thing you have to have the day off work for? I should have asked that before. My gf might be interested but she hasnt ever played softball.

I doubt you would have a game on the night of the 6th. Many people do come out to start camping that night though.

I'd just like to point out that for one of our games REDVAN brought a lady that hadn't played before and she did just fine. Besides, if you're camping all weekend, don't you want her there anyway?

I would have to say no, Shawnski. If I could I would be in, but it is too soon for me. I am thinking there must be some SWers that would like to play, I know some of us talked about it.
