Jedi Council Attacked
http://edition.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/eu....ap/index.html
Quote:
A man who dressed up as Darth Vader, wearing a black garbage bag for a cape, and assaulted the founders of Britain's first Jedi church was given a suspended sentence Tuesday.
Arwel Wynne Hughes, 27, attacked Jedi church founder Barney Jones -- a.k.a. Master Jonba Hehol -- with a metal crutch, hitting him on the head, prosecutors told Holyhead Magistrates' Court.

This is just legendary.

What is the Jedi religion? What are their beliefs?
It says that 400,000 claimed Jedi as their religion.

I don't know, but the guy in your avatar might be a member of the church.

There was a campaign in Britain about 7 or 8 years ago, mostly among university students, to fill in their census forms with the religion "Jedi." It caught on, and apparently has blossomed into something a bit more concrete than your typical joke since then.

Lord Vadar cometh alone and strikes down the Jedi. This has to be one of the funniest things I have read in a long time. My guess is most of the serious Jedi Religion members are virgins and always will be virgins.

I did a report on the Jedi Church in Jr. High for social class and got a D because the teacher didn't believe me. I should phone him up and ask for a better grade and an apology.

Whoa ... 10 litres of wine. If those two Jedi cousins couldn't handle a Darth Vader who was all jacked up on 10 litres of holy water, they deserved to get their butts kicked.

In all fairness, at that point I dont think he can feel pain so he is like a supervillain. If he can stand.
It would be like fighting a hobo, they're cagey.

Ya, I guess. Plus, who knows what kind of occult powers that much holy water might impart. If I drank that much wine my main weapon would probably be projectile vomit.

In England's census, the religion section has an "other" line where you can write down a religion that has no check boxes associated. If a religion gets enough write ins, it has to be included in the next census as an option to check.

Cool ... So in theory I could form a Church of Narcissism & Hedontism, and if I could get enough write-ins it would be become an official religion? Would that mean tax breaks and the freedom to do all kinds of illegal stuff under the guise of religious freedom? This has some serious potential for a ne'er-do-good like myself.
