A really easy way to get 6 stars for 5 minutes is to ride a motor bike up to one of the elevated train platforms by riding up the stairs, then ride on the track until you're in the subway system. If you don't go near a station the cops won't come down. Once you pop up on to the street though, you're screwed.

Easiest way imo is steal a helicopter when you unlock the second island, fly around the third (locked) island for 5 minutes...fly the heli to a safe house, save the game, tada....you get your achievement and you don't die.
No Spoiler here, but I now have the full access to the city.
Also did the 3 leaf clover mission last night. Definitely an epic mission, so fun and intense. Complete that mission to unlock the full city.
Lastly, I picked up a hooker for the first time yesterday. The game has definitely gotten a lot more...um..detailed in the animation of it now.
The girls can be picked up near the 2nd safehouse provided you have a nice vehicle and it's after midnight
I refinished San Andreas on the weekend, and now I'm really pissed that there isn't going to be a PC version of 4.
It was certainly different because I replaced my 17" LCD with a 21" wide screen LCD and it makes a huge difference to your perception.
I had forgotten how hard that last SA mission is, you have to steal a tank, ram through the drug labs wall, clear out three stories of enemies, kill Big Smoke and only head shots would do, in the dark. The escape through a burning building while your enemies are trying to kill you. Jump in a car and chase a firetruck through the city while gang members are throwing molotov cocktails at you that blind you. Get behind the firetruck so that your brother can drop in the car. then he drives while you shoot at cops and motorcycles until the evil Sam Jackson loses control of the firetruck and dies in a hideous accident.
What really pissed me off is that if you fail at any point in this mission you have to start over again.

for the xbox 360 achievement whores out there, any one get the "car roll over" achievement?
Unfortunately the ps3 doesn't have achievements yet so I do not know of what this acheivement is. However, I can tell you that my favourite place to hit jumps and do barrel rolls is at the airport. Huge speed, few interfering vehicles and a number of nice jumps await you.
edit: Oh I remember that mission captain . . . I remember it too bloody well. If I recall it was just getting out of the factory that gave me troubles. Once I got in the car it was pretty much straight shooting from there. If I recall correctly that game ends incredibly similar to the movie "Training Day".
It says Europe but I cant see them not releasing it in North America too.
I thought about holding off for the PC version for the custom tracks feature that will probably be exclusive to it but I kind of liked using a controller better for Saints Row than a mouse and keyboard in past GTA games so I decided to get the 360 version.
Semi OT: It appears some combo of GTA4 and updating the PS3 to V2.3 has bricked my PS3.
Had the system since January, no issue. GTA4 worked fine for the first few days, then wanted to try the online thing. System had to update firmware to 2.3 before I could connect and it took too long for me to keep playing that night.
Didn't have time to play it again for a week (last Friday) and next time I turned it on on Friday, suddenly wouldn't play it or anything else, PS3 games or BluRay/DVD...it doesn't recognize the disk...doesn't auto start or show on the PS3 window.
From the PS3 forum, GTA4 seems to freeze a lot and then people have similar issues with the PS not recognizing the disc, and some with issues exactly like mine, all with v 2.3 firmware....I never had freezing, just a sudden lack of disc recognition...so it has to be the updated firmware integrating with the GTA4 data somehow.
I am assuming HMV (where I got the PS3) won't take it back/exchange it 4 months later (or will the credit card I used cover a direct replacement), so I am left with Sony, who sent a canned response back to me via email today. I'm likely having to call and talk with someone and probably send the thing back under warranty and wait 2 more weeks to get a new one or it fixed back from them.
Never had an issue with any of my game systems in the 2 decades I've had them....

Sony might not be too bad if its under warranty and it can go to the shop here in calgary, thats what I did with my original PS way back when, I took my camera there too, they do warranty work there. Its in the NE just off barlow behind the sheraton. Westpeak Electronic Services is the name, 3402 25th Street NE is address, 291-1672.

I agree with point #1. I'm only 30% complete the game, but I have over $250,000 and still live in a beat up apartment. The story is always about doing missions because Niko needs the money. But for what really...
Still, keeping me well occupied
