Default The Triangle Mystery

Not sure if this has been posted on this website yet, but I thought I'd try anyways.

There's a website called trianglemystery.com . Basically, you start in a room with a strange design on the wall, and you throw a little polygonal contraption around, breaking the walls down while it puts out a few random messages.

If you research these messages, you will find that the majority of them point to particular 'triangular' instances. Some of the messages haven't been decoded yet.

You are then taken to a pyramid structure that seems to be ticking down to something.

I don't want to link to any outside websites where this is being discussed, but basically, it's a large clock using ancient Mayan symbols as the numbers. It's ticking down to 1AM EST. By entering your email address in the box, it gives you the message YOU WILL BE TOLD.

So, if anyone is interested, check it out. And prepare for tonight! Dun, dun, dunnn.

It's www.trianglemystery.com

I have no idea what you're talking about, and I hate not knowing, so I'm checking it out right now.

Sorry about that, heh. A different website I was looking at when I posted that was a .org .

It's a fun little diversion.

Okay, I may know what it is. Apparently the site is owned by Fritos-Lays or whatever that company is called, and since Doritos are in the shape of triangles, some are speculating that it could be the announcement of a new flavor.

Yep, well, there's a new Doritos flavour and marketing campaign called 'The Quest' being released, and people believe it may be that.

Either way, I'm interested in what happens tonight when the timer ticks down. Hopefully it will be worth the wait.

I love viral campaigns.

I had a sample from Doritos at the University where it contained a mix of blue cheese dressing flavour and hot wing flavour chips. I bet it's something like that, mix of a couple flavours.

Those have been available down here in the States for a couple of years, they're tasty.

I dunno about having to exercise my brain in some crazy contest to get some, but I can definitely see walking two - maybe even THREE blocks to Mac's to get a bag of that.

To follow up my last comment, the blue cheese and hot wings mix was delicious. Didn't realize it was available in stores now.

Yep, along with the Chipotle Ranch/Zesty Taco mix....mmmmmmmmmm! We did just get the Sweet and Spicy Chili, which I think has a Canadian counterpart called Sweet Chili Heat if memory serves.

There will be a Cheeseburger flavored chip coming out methinks. I had some of their sample packs without any information on flavor. That's what they tasted like.

This reminds me of the Simpsons where Lisa discovers an "angels" remains, and it then it turns out that it was simply one big ploy to get people to shop at a new mall opening up.

it sends you to Doritos: The Quest or www.doritosthequest.com

Then you have to guess the flavor name, its 11 letters, and I have no clue.

Here's some of the hints they give you while you're trying to decipher the cryptex;
'unmade in two'
'a mounted win'
'unnamed I tow'
'am united now'
I can't figure out these hints. I'm stuck.

The password was mountain dew but after that it asks you to register and put in all your personal information. Screw that, it's just chips.
