So 2 OF's? Now what? Stewart and Stairs back to DH platoon. Mench and Wilkerson platoon in LF?

I think Chacin is done as a MLB pitcher.
So they basically bring in two outfileders and option an infielder to AAA just after two of their short stops go on IR? Interesting...

They also called up Jorge Velandia (short stop) a few days ago, I guess they will go with him as the backup for the next two weeks.

Would guess Stewart will Platoon the Left Field with Wilkerson. Wilkerson would play against the lefties.
Same thing with Stairs / Mench, Mench would DH when they face the lefties.....

This is a little OT considering the earth-shattering news of Wilkerson/Mensch today...
But after watching the Jays recently, I can't stop thinking THANK CHRIST they didn't move Rios for Lincecum of SF in the offseason, as was the hot rumour. Can you imagine what the offence would be like minus Rios?!?!

The offence would suck....but last I looked Linecum was 4-1 with a 1.79 ERA or something like that. Still the Jays would be the team with a staff ERA of like 2.20 and a 10-25 record.

Ah, good ol Jays. Muster one run and have a lead because of pitching until they can't hold your pathetic bats any longer. And I don't wanna hear it's because Sabathia is pitching. They can't score, period. It's soooo aggravating.

Nice...
Santos at least has some potential, same with Chacin.
But seriously, Jean Machi and Tracy Thorpe are on the 40... it amazes me how they still have a place on it. Piles of trash who aren't even close to what the 2 who just got DFA'd could be (which says a lot).

If I was Doc, or hell any of the pitchers on this team I would call the team out, pitch great games for your team that can't score a run to save their lives.

It's certainly getting frustrating, as for releasing guys, strangre moves indeed, but with Chacin sucking against kids, not likely that anyone will take a chance.

Plus it's not like we released Santos or Chacin, we can still have them in our farm system unless someone claims them on waivers.

I wish. JPR is a complete and utter dumbass.
Even with great pitching the Blue Jays are terrible. Now with McGowan screwing up an inning there is no way they will come back to win this game.
Look forward to 2009?
