Hmmm. With a convincing win in N.C. and basically a tie in Indiana, where does that leave her?
I think she's done. Maybe this gives her the opportunity she needs to graciously step aside. One can hope, anyway.

Looking at the Indiana results, I can see why they're not calling this yet. No votes in yet from the Northwest corner of Indiana, which is basically suburban Chicago--bigtime Obama territory. Clinton's doing well in the rural counties but also no votes yet from Hendricks county near Indianapolis. I think we see that margin shrink even more before this is done.

With 29% of the precincts remaining, Clinton's lead is now down to 4 points.

Clinton just said she is going after Florida and Michigan. She will never give up, even if it destroys the Dem's chances vs. McCain.

I just don't get it. By ANY measure tonight should be a HUGE disappointment to the Clinton camp. She needed at least a respectable showing in N.C. and to win by a decent margin in Indiana. She did neither. What's the rationale for continuing? I'm very confused by her speech.
She'll look doubly foolish if she ends up losing Indiana, which is still a possibility, albeit a remote one. As I type this the gap is down to 3%, or about 20,000 votes, with less than a third of Lake County precincts in. Now it all depends on how many people in Lake county voted.

Makes you wonder.... is a victory of less than 2% really a victory?

Sweet lord, can you imagine the pressure the DNC is facing right now. I'd be tearing my hair out if Hilary doesn't step down.

You really have to wonder about their endgame. It seems like Michigan and Florida are the last, best hope for the Clinton camp. That's really not much of a hope.

It's very possible that Hillary and Obama are tied in DG's handed out in Indiana. For all relevant purposes, under this system, it's a virtual tie. She's going to be a riot to watch in the coming weeks as she pushes for FLA and MI to count.

She is almost certainly going to lose.
I also see absolutely no reason to continue.
If she has money left, give it to some charity. Or to the DNC, since they seem to be all out.

I'm pretty sure the DNC has plenty of money. The Dems have outraised the GOP by huge margins in this electoral cycle for the first time in recent memory.
Hillary's campaign on the other hand is apparently broke--yet another argument for dropping out.

Okay, I might have had it confused then.
So, she's going to continue despite being broke?
Very, very strange.
Oh, and she is broke. Remember the story of not paying her campaign mangers or something?

Vaguely. Most of those people aren't paid particularly well anyway. I speak from experience.
The results from Lake county have started to come in, but slowly. As expected, big margins for Obama. CNN is interviewing the mayor of Gary, IN right now to find out why their results are coming in so slowly. (Shenanigans? Who knows. Maybe they were waiting to find out what margin Obama needed.... )
I really think it's likely that Clinton will hang on to a narrow win, though--like 1.5% or something. With only one county left, 20,000 votes is a pretty big gap to make up, actually. Although every other prediction I've made has been wrong, so maybe I should just stop...

CNN projects Hillary Clinton will win Indiana.... with 99% of precincts reporting. That's why we pay them the big bucks I guess.
Still, it's virtually a tie. I don't know why they're acting as though 20,000 votes makes any difference in a system that allocates delegates proportionally. The outcome is the same: a tie.

Just watch Clinton's speech after her "victory" in Indiana.
IMHO, she's trying to bridge the gap between her and Obama to get the VP slot.

I don't think Obama will touch her with a 30 foot poll.
