That said, I liked it. Even as a comedy it would've been a success in my eyes. Funniest movie I've watched since SuperBad, and it has action too! The actual fight with the bad guy is pretty short, since they spend a lot of time on plot development and setting things up.
Yeah, that's the only complaint I would have about it, but the scene with the jets is awesome.

Spoiler

For those who missed the final scene after the credits, here it is. I have a feeling this will be ripped off youtube shortly, but for the time being, it's up.

After hearing about that scene in the end it would appear they are going with the Ultimate Continuity.

Red head > blonde. Always.

She looked pretty good, I agree.

Default Digital projection makes Ironman credits green?

For me it wasn't really a complaint... they put a lot of time into the storyline, and I'm fine with that. And when it's a new character, it's sort of necessary. They can go into action quicker with the sequels, like we saw with Spiderman 1 & 2.

Might be worth a new thread, but has anyone else watched this in a digital projection cinema (e.g. theatre 4 at Chinook)? I noticed the credits had some (quite a lot actually) of green mixed in with the white, and I was wondering if it was a digital issue. Is this the font (I didn't think so, at it varied with the letters), or a problem with digital projection itself? Does it look green on film? Looked to me like when the same letters were in the same column they'd all have the green in the same spot, but when same letters in different columns had different green parts. My guess is that the black is really dark, dark green, and this effect is a result of the anti-aliasing. Except that all the green is the same shade, so I really don't know.

Not a big deal at all (digital looked fantastic otherwise, no scratches at all and one of my friends noted that the whites seemed brighter), but I'd be curious to know what's going on here.

I just got back from watching this movie and man was it ever fun. Great character development, great set up for the next one and Gwyneth Paltrow looks great as a red head. They couldn't have picked a better Tony Stark. Robert Downey was simply cool as this character. My only complaint with this entire thing was that they didn't show the new Batman trailer, instead they decided to go with the first teaser. Other than that, I would definitely recommend that people see this, it's a lot of fun.

I didn't get Batman either, I did get the Hulk. I was expecting the Dark Knight preview and was upset when I never saw it. I did comment to a friend of mine that it's a Marvel movie so it makes sense that they're not advertising a movie about a DC comic.

Damn it! i didn't get the Hulk either.. boooo..

Tony Stark is going to make an appearance in the new Hulk movie... It would be awesome if they follow through with what happened at the end of the Iron Man movie.

From what I can tell the Marvel plan is to put out movies w/ Sub-mariner, Thor, and Captain America first. My guess is they then tie them all into an Avenger movie.

The only ones of the original Avengers w/out rumours of a movie are Wasp and Henry Pym. They would actually make a fantastic movie IMO, but it is unlikely they are well known enough to warrant the big money it would take to make the needed effects.

So you're knocking a movie that is loved by everyone here who's seen it (myself included) AND rated 94% on Rotten Tomatoes? I mean it's not like you'll die if you don't see it... BUT it is a wicked movie. Trust us.

Oh and can someone fill me in about the final scene after the credits? I didn't stay for it...curses! Text in white so it doesn't get revealed to the masses mayhaps??

Stark returns home from his press conference only to find Samuel L Jackson in his living room....Jackson introduces himself as Nick Fury from SHIELD and says if STark is the Ironman, he has a proposal for him...the Avenger initiative

Snap! I had a nagging feeling there'd be something at the end too. Thanks for the info, though!
