It's funny because I would say they are far more relevant than any other hard rock/metal acts that were also popular during the mid to late 90s.

RHCP suck now, KoRn has fallen off the map, Metallica sucks, all of the grunge bands are gone, Limp Bizkit is gone, the Smashing Pumpkins are gone. Green day sold out and now blow pretty big chunks, the Offspring are gone. Hell even the bands like STP, Guns n Roses and Chris Cornell have not been able to capture past glory.

Only Tool and NIN are still relevant and making good music out of almost any band I can think of that was popular during that time period.

Very relevant and Year Zero proved that. A departure from his introspective poetry that was starting to get stale and finally turned the lens outward in developing a concept album that spoke politically and artisitcally.

I saw the show on the last tour. One of my last favorite bands I had yet still needed to see live. A great performance.

I imagine the stage show for this concert might tie in with some of the Year Zero themes. Could be very very cool.

I, for one, am pumped. Last time they came I had some weird throat infection and thus I decided not to spread the plague, and gave my tickets away, but I don't care if I have to go on the bleeding stumps of my severed legs this time, I am THERE!

Yep, the last concert was great. I am biased, of course, being a huge fan and all but a lot of people who weren't familiar with anything besides the singles came away very very impressed with the show and the band. NIN is definitely one of those bands who is better sounding live than studio.

You bet. Year Zero was an absolutely fantastic album, complex layers that really dug deeper than anything Reznor's done in years.

Count me in as one of the ones at the NIN show w/QOTSA and Death from above...!
Good show, I will agree, QOTSA weren't that great that show, an off night perhaps. I'm really looking forward to the Oasis show this summer also.

Ugh Queens were high or wasted or something. Not that I'm a fan anyway, but they were really off that night.

I got chills down my spine when the whole audience sang along to 'Hurt'. It was a beautiful moment.

Anyone know when tickets go on sale? Not for a little while I hope, kinda short on funds for the next few weeks.

By the time "Hurt" rolled around I lost my buddies I was with and was quite hammed and in a bit of a "cloud", the lighters tripped me right out, sang my ass off, lol.

This is from the email I just got -

Nine Inch Nails is touring the US and Canada this summer. Premium tickets for all NIN headline dates will be made available to registered nin.com members in advance of public on sales. Pre sale tickets are personalized with the members legal name printed on the face of the ticket and ID will be required for pickup and entry into the venue on night of show. Pre sale ticket supplies are limited and available on a first come, first serve basis. Our goal is to put the best tickets in the hands of the fans and not in the hands of scalpers and/or brokers. Register at nin.com and check the performance page for additional tour updates

It's cute you are using terms like "sold out".
PS. Foo Fighters....or do they suck too?

uhhh what? cute? Weird choice of vocabulary.

Not sure how Foo Fighters qualify. Their first album sounds exactly like their most recent one. (not necessarily a bad thing)

Yes green day sold out. when you are an awesome punk band then intentionally start making top 40 stuff for 13 year old girls you have officially sold out.

Just like Simple Plan actually used to be a punk band under a different name?

Or how about Dude Ranch from Blink 182? Everything after that was for the sole purpose of selling records.

Well if you're gonna call Green Day sell outs they've been sell outs since 1994. It's not a new revelation that Green Day makes music teenagers like.
So because an artist sells millions of records (Green Day, Chili Peppers) they lose all credibility?
Just because you like NIN & Tool doesn't mean they are the only groups still relevant.

What the F are you talking about?

Did someone in high school that wears a NIN shirt beat you up or something? what the hell is with this mindless crap you are spewing? Clearly I'm not the only one to think NIN are relevant as you can tell from the other posts in this thread.

When the hell did I say that the Chilli Peppers have lost all credibility? I just said that their recent stuff has sucked!

And ok then Green Day have been sell outs since 94 who Fing cares? Fact is they aren't relevant anymore because they make meaningless drivel.

Did it occur to you that I like them because they are relevant, not that they are relevant because I like them?

Hey, here's a better thread for you:
