Congratulations Central!
Our secret weapon won't be a secret for long. I wonder if she can pitch both ends of a double header?
I see the forecast for Sunday is rain. Hope we get our games in.

Calgary Puckers shine in debut
Calgary (CP) - The expansion Calgary Puckers sent a message to their Bush League rivals Thursday night, posting a thrilling 13-9 road victory in their debut at the Ballpark at Crescent Heights.
Proving that their relative inexperience would not benefit the opposition, the Calpuckers stormed out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first, while holding their opponents scoreless in the bottom half of the frame. Three more runs in the second, and five in the fourth gave the Calpuckers a lead that would never seriously be challenged.
Starting pitcher Rinkrat (1-0), a recent call-up from their minor league affiliate in the Kokanee League, pitched a complete game for the victory. The team relied on sparkling defence to snuff out a furious attempt at a rally in the 6th and 7th innings to preserve the win.
Team manager, FireFly, credited the victory to the dedication her team showed towards training in the preseason, though she expressed disappointment in the lack of beer drinking, believing that the sobriety cost the team a couple more runs.
The Calpuckers will look to go 2-0 when they next take the field on Tuesday May 13 at Marlbrough. Game time is 6:45.

I should be good to go for Sunday. I iced my pitching arm as soon as I got home, you should be more worried about the slight pull of my hamstring.
Central played a good game! Thanks for having me, I needed the game situation practice.

This story is useless without pictures.
And by pictures, I mean pictures of all the hot babes in the league.

I'll be sure to take a picture of FireFly next game.
And thanks for coming out, Rinkrat! Good luck on Sunday.
Sucks to hear about your injuries, Aeneas. Guess you will just have to return in time for a Gibsonesque home run to win the title, eh?

Good Lord, no more injuries. We've already lost our captain, we can't afford to lose a pitcher as well.

Good job Central.
Resolute: Yes, I plan to come back in game 20 to hit a HR, that's my schedule.
Hey, thanks to everyone for the kind words and some nice PM's. However, troutman for the last time, I do not require a sponge bath; please stop PMing me.
Need someone to come by and get the scoresheets, and maybe warmup balls from me. Bats and bat bag too.
At this point I do not think I'll come to the diamonds, maybe next week. I will be the scorekeeper/cheerleader in the future. I may go to the pub on Sunday though.
Speaking of the pub. It is happy hour drinks on Sunday, and we will recieve 50% off food appetizers. The manager and I discussed financial sponsorship (I must say he returned my call at an inoppurtune time at home-sick 3 year old, crying new born so I wasn't at my best wheeling and dealing) and jerseys. I perhaps foolishly said we had shirts already being made up, and that our fees were covered.
What he will do is for next season give us $500 for jerseys, league fees bats whatever. He does not need any Pete's logo on shirts. All he asks is that we come out and support him. So lets see how this season shakes out, see who wants to play again next year, and decide what we would like to do with the money.
So, I never really had a meeting with him; sorry. But he is solidly committed to supporting us down the road. We support him well, maybe it turns into something else this year. Maybe we ask him to pick a fancy team bat for us, like $300 range or something.
Aeneas
ps Rinkrat: did you see anything worth sparing for SW, if we ever need it?

Aeneas,
You will be missed on the diamond, sorry to hear about your injury. You know a real player would just get a brace and play............
I think the short stop (Andrew) on the central team would be a good replacement for you. I think Resolute 14 would make a good spare for SW as well!

I can pick up the paper work and equipment. Do we have to keep score sheets? Sounds like math. Maybe Locke can do it.

Yeah, we need them during the games but we don't have to hand them in so they don't need to be pretty. We call in the scores to the hotline on Mondays.

good idea trout. I will be there.
maybe best if someone emails out though rather than following the thread and then easier to get subs that way if needs be.
Put my name on the sub list for the central team, or any team for that matter
