Cancun Mexico!!!
So I am leaving for Cancun Mexico tomorrow afternoon. I'll be gone for a week for a bachelor party. There is about 10-12 of us going in total.
I haven't been to Cancun since 2002. Has a lot changed since then? My last trip is kinda hazy now, but I've gone to Koko Bongo, Phat Tuesday, Daddy O's, Daddy Rocks, and maybe one or more club. Not too sure if any of those clubs still exist (I think Koko Bongo is). What night club do you guys recommend?
I don't think we'll be going on many tourist stuff, but in 2002 I went on the Jungle Tour and Chichin Itza (sp?). Any tourist stuff I "must" go to this time?
What about for the actual bachelor party night? I didn't go to any strip clubs in 2002, but we'll definately hit one up for sure. I want to take him to the best one. There probably isn't, but is there a strip club that is Spearmint Rhino quality?
Finally, what about bull fights? Lots of those to go to? Underground dog fights? Underground fights?
We didn't have any problems with the locals in 2002, but has safety been a concern for Canadian tourists in recent years?
Thanks in advance for all your suggestion guys!!!

Was just there in March, Coco Bongo and Daddy-O's are still there, no idea about the others. I went to The City and it was probably my favorite club. I didn't do any tourist stuff worth mentioning nor did I get killed by the locals.
I really wanted to catch a bullfight but they only happen once a week and I missed my chance. This is a fairly uneducated guess but I think they were on Sundays.

YUP..sundays..if you don't mind watching a bull get bludgeoned at the end. My sister took her son to one , not knowing what happened at the end and he was pretty traumatized. Are you serious about dogfights? Man..that's bad, even to ask about it is pretty bad.

Phat Tuesday's is no longer there. My favorite was Senior Frogs but it's a younger crowd (a large part of the people probably aren't 18). Anyways make sure you get really gunned and slay dragons every day

If you find an "underground dog fight", I really hope you lean over a little to far and fall in the ring.
If that's the kind of entertainment you and your "buddy's" go to for a bachelor party then I hope tourist violence is still prevalent down there.

Slightly on topic, but not worth starting a new thread for. I'm leaving for Puerto Vallarta Saturday for a bachelor party and wedding. Any must-see stuff while I'm down there?

Yeah, I'm not sure about the underground dog fight stuff.
You're there with some buddies for a bachelor party...........just worry about drinking like a fish and going to some nudie bars.
There's clubs, strip bars, beaches, booze..........not sure where watching dogs kill each other fits in there, or why. One of these things is not like the others................

Actually I was just there in March and the Bullfights are on Wednesday's. I highly recommend going to see one if you go. Also if they ask for volunteers from the crowd before they start, get your buddy that is getting married to go down and make sure you bring a camera.
Also I know when we went down there was a pub crawl that you can go on. You get entrance to 4 or 5 bars and all you can drink for $65 which is a pretty good deal, plus that includes the ride to downtown Cancun.

Ah yes, Wednesdays, that does sound right because I left on a Tuesday.
To all with the issues with dog fights... Why no problem with the bullfight? Dog fights are the more fashionable cause right now?

Have fun.... try to avoid getting beaten, murdered or thrown in Jail for years without a trial. Try not to be bothered by the hatefilled stares and sideways glances you get from all the natives... its not you its all tourist they hate...
Mexico is not what it used to be, what a dump - couldn't pay me to go back.

A buddy of mine who I work with went down to Cancun for a stag a few months ago (he was the best man). A few of the party of 10 got seperated one night and got jumped by three or four locals. The rest of the party stumbled out of the bar and saw what was happening and the brawl was on. Long story short, when the smoke cleared one member of the stag had to go to the hospital along with the Mexicans. It was a very tense situation as the police got involved. My advice is to have fun, but keep a few guys sober (draw straws) and keep the group together. You are in a foriegn country where the locals may take advantage of drunk people with more money in their pockets than they make in a year.
