I don't have any idea how to set-up online stuff. Maybe you can answer a couple of questions for me about it...

Is it like XBOX live? Like do you have to pay monthly and if so where do you register?

Will it connect to our wireless internet like the wii does?

Is it relatively easy to set-up or is there anything else I need to get before I go home after work to get it going?

Yes, to play online you need xbox live. cost $50-$60 for a year subscription. You can buy the card from any computer store (and once your online, you can buy from the online store)

yes and no. Need the wireless adapter (i think it costs $80). Easiest way to to connect it to your router, should auto detect.

if it's a wired connection, just need a regular network cable and plug it into your router. Assuming you don't have MAC filtering or anything like that, should be fairly painless.

if you opt for hte wireless, need to get the wireless adaptor and set it up like how you setup a laptop to get online.

The last option is to use connect the xbox to a laptop or computer with a wireless card and connect that way via internet sharing, but that's harder.

Oh wow, you aren't even aware of two of my favorite features! The playstation network (PSN) is completely free to play on, and the ps3 does have built-in wireless so it should quite easily connect to your network. PSN isn't as cool as live, but it's free, so that's gotta count for something. You won't need anything to get it going out of the box.

Signing up for the network is easy. I'm sure you'll figure it out on your own, but here's a handy guide if you want to follow along.

They go into crazy, unnecessary detail but it's all there!

Once you sign up for an account, you will be prompted to download the latest update. It will take a little while to download (maybe 20 minutes or so), so get your frustration out of the way now.

Once that's done and you're all set up with your online, go to the 'friends' category on the far right and hit the 'add friend' option. Just type in my gamertag (RedMile), let me know it's you in the message body and fire it off. I'll accept the invite tonight and then you'll be able to see when I'm on, what I'm playing and we can hook up for online killing.

When you throw GTA into your system it will load a few gigs to the hard drive (regrettably, this means you have another 7 minute delay). Don't worry though, it's all to help with load times.

I would hit up northland as you have 4 possible stores (futureshop, bestbuy, eb games and walmart).

it took me a couple of months to completely finish San Andreas so I wonder how long it'll take to complete GTA 4. Plus with upcoming downloadable content, looks like I'll be playing it for the next little while =)

Went to HMV on Stephen Ave. over my lunch break and they were completely sold out for both the 360 and PS3. Looks like I'll have to go on an excursion after work today.

Anyone having any freezing problems with the game? Supposedly a lot of folks (including a couple friends of mine) are having problems with freezing during the cutscenes...

I have a reserved special edition copy for 360 you can buy from me. My girlfriend surprised me and bought it for me so I'm about to have two copies

If you can meet me downtown with it before 5:00 today, consider it sold. PM me for details.

[Edit]
Or if you live in the Beltline/Mission/Kensington areas, I can pick it up at your place after I get off work tonight.

I almost forgot about this! But then I remembered this morning, and grabbed one on my way to get a coffee. It's nestled safely in a lockbox inside a secure room, waiting for me to get it on the way home.

Bye bye social life.
