If that's true I can see why people want Peterson fired. That is a king's ransom for Dorsey, and I think the Saints ended up with the better DT.
If the Chiefs truly are in rebuilding mode two 1st's and a 2nd would have done MARVELS for them. Ultimately, I think they screwed the pooch on this one!!
How about the Jags, giving up alot to get Derrick Harvey!! Kinda makes the Allen trade look a bit better.

I don't think so....it's been proven for some time that the Chiefs brass is a bunch of idiots!
I don't follow college ball enough but there are those who claim Dorsey was the best player in the draft. But the Saints trade a 1st and 3rd to move up from 10 to 7 and get a 5th out of it too and draft Ellis who others say is pretty damn close to Dorsey.
So if the cost to go up 3 spots was only what it was, than I can't imagine the Saints offered that much to go up 5 places. If they did though, the Chiefs should have taken that deal.

Adam Schefter said they did. Believe me, if he said it, its true. Thank God the Chiefs rejected that deal, I love the value on the Ellis pick!
btw and for the second year in a row, my NFL Network feed fizzles out the pick before the Saints make their selection. Un-******-believeable!!!!!!!

I think Schefter has to be b.s.ing, because that would have been waaaaay too much to give up for Dorsey. I am thrilled we picked up Ellis and retained our second, I still don't understand the Chiefs not trading down.

And now the Cheifs trade up! This time to get OG who projects to play as a tackle in Branden Albert. Sounds like he's some athlete, but that he'll have a bit of a learning process with a new position. Still getting an offensive lineman was something the Chiefs needed. I guess wait and see if the project guy here matches the tools he has.

Big win for the Chiefs, Albert is better than Clady, fricken monster of a human being. Really smart using the gaggle of picks they have to move up, as you can't have 13 or so rookies making the team, or killing your cap.

Chiefs central in here.
Great 2nd rounder IMO. Flowers is going to be a great corner.

Chiefs have done very well, Flowers is tough hombre for a corner, Saints add Porter out of Indiana at corner. Like the pick, guy can flat out run and has great hands, 6 picks on an average/bad defence.

This draft is crazy. People off the board everywhere, and you can't criticize them either.
Fun stuff.
I wish we could get this kind of coverage for the NHL draft.

I agree, Chiefs have done well.
I'm very happy with the Broncos first two picks. Wanted Clady, didn't think he'd be there...he's a perfect fit on Denver's OL. Royal addresses needs....depth at WR but more importantly a solid return guy which, frankly, the Broncos haven't had since Darien Gordon. That's been a while.

Really surprised that the Packers went with a WR being they are as a deep a group as can be found in the NFL already. However, the guy they took is a great athlete and can flat out play.
They have to look at a CB sooner or later though as Woodson and Harris are a bit long in the tooth.

Unbelievable.
Simply SHOCKED that the Packers would draft a QB in the 2nd damn round. Ugh.
Gott suck to be Aaron rodgers right now.
Brohm could be a beauty and maybe will be a huge payoff...but holy smokes i am stunned.

Not likin the Packers picks so far. IMO they had arguably the deepest group of WR's in the NFC. And although Aaron Rodgers is FAR from proven, he's still a first round pick from three years ago who looks promising. If anything, they needed a veteran backup(ie Culpepper) for him, not another blue chip youngster to compete with him. Weak sauce.

Jordy Nelson is a stud.
John Clayton was saying there were more than a handful of teams hoping to 'steal' him in the second round.
Great pick Tranny.

Wow, that is surprising that the Packers would take a QB that high in the draft. Although a few of the mock drafts I read claimed Brohm was the best QB to be had in this draft.

I guess the one way to look at it is this...
Rodgers is a 1st rd pick...OK, but that really doesnt mean anything at this point because no one knows how he will play as a starter. As well he has had some durability issues in the limited time he has played.
So now if he fails or gets injured, they have a pretty decent fall back plan in that Brohm played in a pro-style offense in Louisville and may be the most "ready right now" QB in this draft.
I mean lets look at the QB's in that division... Grossman in Chicago, Jackson in Minnesota and an aging Kitna in detroit. That alone means that even 'decent" QB play and you can win your division going away.
The more I think about this move the more I understand it and think it could pay off in spades. Already the youngest team in the NFL with a super receiving core, what looks to be a stud RB, and a defense that was very very good last year, the right QB and this team is among the elite once again..and possibly for a good long run.
the other thing about the Nelson pick Dis, is that Driver is now 34 years old and James Jones really faded during the 2nd half of the season...so there is room for him for sure. Koren Robinson is likely gonzo for sure now.
Nelson and Brohm are also really good fits for the West coast offense that McCarthy insists on using....which I agree with.
Justa side note...according to a GB insider, Ted Thompson admitted he tried to trade UP in the 2nd to get Brohm....so this was no knee jerk reaction to a player falling to them, it was a guy they wanted.
im pleased overall.

The Chiefs have had a whale of a draft. Jamaal Charles in the 3rd round? Lots to like about him.

You bet, Peterson just won back some time with the way this weekend went, nothing like a glimmer of hope for a bad team to give the fans something to look forward to.

Well...I have little idea what Thompson is thinking with some of todays picks.
Matt flynn? Not sure why he would go that direction unless he plans on starting the year with Rodgers and two rookies as his QB's...just makes no sense especially when you consider they offered Dante Culpepper a contract last week to be the back up/mentor for rodgers and Brohm. Just a strange strange selection IMO.
Also selecting ANOTHER WR in Swain from SDST....seriously who is he going to push out as the 5th receiver? THEN trading down yet again to another division rival (same way the Vikes ended up with JD Booty) and allow Detroit to pick Campbell from Army..a guy I thought they liked themselves.
Yikes what a strange last hour of the draft.
