I'm picky about emoticons, they all have to fit the same look.. took lots of hunting to find the ones even that we've got.

The barf one might come in handy for off-season trade proposals...

I'd suggest a Hitler icon for the Off-Topic board simply because it's a recurrent theme, but it's probably too inflamatory, LOL.

How about this one for the Oilers?

Maybe use the logos from NHL.com at the top. You might have to cut up the individual logos. But I think this size would be better.

Have to admit that those drop-shadows make the tiny icons pop out, but for what it's worth, the CalgaryPuck icons currently in place convey the gist of what they're purposed to be.

The new size looks great. Thanks a lot! It is a nice feature when you're lazy and don't want to skim through each title.

Now that they have been resized, they are even cuter! I like them a lot. It really makes the board pretty... in a manly and rugged way.

I agree with most of the sentiments here, they look wicked. I'm curious though, what kind of copyright stuff did you have to go through?

In this case there shouldn't be a copyright issue since it's related to the thread's content.. we're not trying to use the logo to promote ourselves but using the image in relation to content where the logo is topical.. kind of like a newspaper using the logo of the Flames in a story about the Flames; they don't need permission for that.

My understanding of how fair use would apply in this case.

The Lanny one, well we'll just have to hope he isn't aggressive in protecting the image of his facial hair

What is fair use re: the Lanny pic? Strictly Lanny threads, or should we open it up a bit more to any thread pertaining to Flames alumni/nostalgia?

Also, with all the amazing graphics contributors on the board, is CPuck going to consider submissions from the posters for new icons? Perhaps we vote on some new additions at some point?

For the record, I think they're great, and now just the right size. Great job fellas.

I guess we could if we added more, but I think having all the teams there is pretty complete, too many more just becomes too much to display.

As for the use of the lanny icon, I don't think it's a big deal as to where to use it.

Maybe don't use it if you are starting an OT thread that's a rant against Eastside Dodge.

For some reason the Oilers, Rangers, Habs, Cannots, Sens, and NHL logos are back to the old size...

What about a CP Icon?

That could represent threads about CalPuck published articles (game takes/general articles/etc)
