Default For those Webkinz parents out there in CP land

I know there are at least a couple of you who've got kids that love Webkinz. So I just wanted to give you guys a heads up about the Webkinz Extravaganza coming up this weekend.

http://www.webkinz.com/webkinz_day_2008.html

Starting on April 25th, 2008, the participating retailers have agreed to give away one Webkinz plush toy AT NO EXTRA CHARGE to the first 500 customers who make any in-store purchase of $10 or more. Quantities are limited, so visit early!

Click the link to find a store. I know at the Northland Hallmark, probably won't start the promotion until Saturday morning. Not all stores that sell Webkinz will be taking part. I wonder how busy it'll be this weekend...

My kids have finally dropped those things from their obsession list.

They have now moved on to Lego Star Wars on PS2..........

I think they may be cheaper. We never sold Gund stuff, so I'm not entirely sure.

Really? It seems like the end may be near. I know we've been selling them like mad for the past couple years, so it doesn't seem like this trend is ebbing at all.

My kids have lost interest in them is all I know.
And I'm not about to get em started again.

I still curse the day my brother gave my boys their first ones.

Happily, my boys seem happy with one Webkinz each. They still go on-line to play, but don't seem obsessed with collecting more.

Wow, that's too awesome. I've got kids coming in who are like, I have 52! It's scary.

Thats exactly what I don't want to happen. My boys have 2-3 each and that is enough.

I think a lot of the kids end up getting more just to try and up their friends, get the newest one before everyone else, or to see who has the most. It's those kids that just make me sad. I used to really hate webkinz, but I figure they make the kids happy and they're pretty much harmless as long as the parents don't let their gets go too nuts with them. Anyhow, it's just a fad and they come and go.
