I don't see any call for you to be "done here"--we disagree about this, but there's no need to be hostile.
Frankly, I think it's a little odd that you're not at least open to another interpretation of a remark that I think you'll agree was taken out of context.

Meh, we're going in circles....really no need to keep going if we're obviously going to disagree.
I was probably the first person here on CP to start creating discussion about Obama, his policies, and what he could do for the US.
But man, the things he has said the past 2 months....I expect more of him. Its not so much that McCain says stupid things, or Hillary makes stupid comments, but moreso that I expect Obama to rise above the ridiculous political bickering, and IMO, he hasn't done that.
He has a few times now said things were the next day his campaign is in full mode doing damage control.

So has anyone actually won this thing yet? Sorry if it's happened already but I have just been busy with school and playoffs and lost track of this thing a while ago. Anyway, thanks for the info.

Pennsylvania has their primary Tuesday. It should be a little clearer after that, but the whole thing may not be over until the convention.

If Clinton doesn't run away with Pennsylvania....she should bow out.
But I doubt that she will.

New poll has Obama 20 points ahead nationally:
Hillary Drops Back
A new Newsweek poll shows Obama pulling away
Despite her campaign's relentless attacks on Barack Obama's qualifications and electability, Hillary Clinton has lost a lot of ground with Democratic voters nationwide going into Tuesday's critical primary in Pennsylvania, a new NEWSWEEK poll shows.
The survey of 1,209 registered voters found that Obama now leads Clinton by nearly 20 points, or 54 percent to 35 percent, among registered Democrats and those who lean Democratic nationwide. The previous Newsweek poll, conducted in March after Clinton's big primary wins in Ohio and Texas, showed the two Democrats locked in a statistical tie (45 percent for Obama to 44 percent for Clinton). The new poll puts Obama ahead among women as well as men, and voters aged 60 and older as well as younger voters. (For the complete poll data, click here).
Is anyone else as excited as me to watch the Clinton's implode and disappear from politics?

I don't want to pick on you, but a national poll doesn't seem all that relevant right now--what matters is Pennsylvania, where Clinton is still holding on to a lead. That's where the next narrative of this election will come from, and if Clinton wins big, you could see that 20 point lead evaporate in a hurry, potentially.

I, personally, believe it because of the extremely large font the title of the article is in.
For a non-American, non-US employed student, that poster sure has a love affair with Obama getting into office.

Azure, you're right to in your suggestion that all of Obama's associations and 'elitist' comments need to be challenged. But the degree to which they are analyzed is hilarious. Mass media are the ones pounding this stuff to death, and you're sucking it up. You seem to feel this overwhelming desire to come after Obama for the questionable stuff he's said...Maybe it's because that's where the resistance is coming from, but I sure don't see you questioning other candidates. Granted, Hillary is old news and McCain isn't even in the spotlight. Point is, and both democratic candidates have said this about the other, there is enough dirt out there to attack either of them...And since the republicans can't run for a republican platform (they know they wouldn't get elected), they are going to run against the democratic platform. It's really ironic that the same party that essentially started government in the US is the same party holding it back, but that's another story.
Here's my take on the rural/urban racism stuff, you don't have to agree with it.
Rural people, historically, are less educated. Less educated, historically, makes you more likely to be conservative in your voting. I'll be attacked for making the connection between republicans and racists, because it's certainly not a sweeping ideology among them, but which party would more than likely contain more supporters with racist or white supremacist views? In my opinion, it's republicans, whose voting base is predominantly rural - Save a few states. I'm actually surprised you're so against the idea that rural people are more ethnocentric by nature than are urban people. No one is talking about extreme racist views, just moderate race issues.
And just because some people don't have time to post every 10 minutes in this thread doesn't discount their opinion, or make them 'driveby' posters.
EDIT: Your suggestion that liberal leaning sites are just as bad as liberal leaning ones is outrageous, and you know it.
|
What complete load of poop!
Less education = conservative. Then complete psychosis = Liberal
KKK's 1st targets were Republicans
An estimated 3,446 blacks and 1,297 whites died at the end of KKK ropes from 1882 to 1964.
Spot the Republican!

I was watching CNN last night and (sorry if this has already been said) I hear that Hillary needs to win big tonight to justify staying in the race. Is this true or is that an exaggeration or a spin?

It's true--but it also may happen. Pennsylvania is not known for its love of upstarts, and Hillary polls both ahead of Obama and ahead of McCain statewide.
It comes down to turnout in the cities vs. rural PA in my opinion.

I'm guessing that the very real and stupid speeches that Clinton, Obama and McCain produced for WWE Raw last night are going to drop all of their approval ratings.
