I din't even realize it was 420. There was a time where it was one of my favorite days of the year. How things have changed.
It was a beautiful day though, great weather in Van as mentioned. Good day for the sun run and I saw Jack White in Yaletown.

Lol. I was gonna ask you where you work, but then I saw that you live in Vancouver, so really that could be any workplace.

lol . Last night I was at a function where several thousand people were all doing drugs under the same roof . . . many to the point where they were vomiting and trying to fight each other. Good thing the drug was legal, otherwise it may have gotten out of hand!
Happy 4:20 everyone!

I drove through downtown Van yesterday on my way to the airport, and there was some massive pot rally going on, right in front of the road I had to turn down. Something to do with legalization I would assume, because it absolutely REEKED like pot, and there were a number of people smoking so much weed it was billowing out their ears. I thought it was kinda funny until I saw they were impeding my progress, at which point I decided that the dirty hippies needed to be set on fire, and the skid long hairs needed a bath.
Oddly enough it coincided with the scientology protest on the same block. Coincidence? I think not!!!!

Pretty good 420 yesterday.
Too bad the weather was so cold.
Flames win, lots of laughs and a nice sleep. Couldn't ask for more

I had to get to the dome early because my friends were sitting in the SCZ so I made a quick little trip outside and smoked right at about 4:20pm.
However I've always thought the day was more important than the actual time.

Was that Howe St. you were trying to turn onto? God I was stuck on Georgia for like 30 minutes trying to turn right onto Howe, because all these stoners kept spilling out onto the road. Seemed like 98% of the protesters were ######ed looking junior high/high schoolers...pretty pathetic if that's what constitutes your main demographic for the cause.

Yup, that was the one. It wouldn't have been so bad if they weren't jaywalking across the street...apparently the right to smoke weed should also include the right to impede traffic, shout at the local cops, and generally piss off everyone around you because hey.... this sh*t NEEDS to be legal, man.

As an ex-420er, I know my slang quite well...
...but here's the Wikipedia explanation for any that may be too stoned to figure it out:
Quote:
Although many diverse theories exist to explain the origin of the term, one central root of the phrase stems from a group of teenagers at San Rafael High School in San Rafael, California in 1971; the teens would meet after school at 4:20 p.m. to smoke cannabis at the Louis Pasteur statue. The term became part of their group's salute, "420 Louis!", and became popularized in the late 1980s by fans of The Grateful Dead. Many North American cannabis users continue to observe 4:20 as a time to smoke communally. By extension April 20 ("4/20" in U.S. dating shorthand) has evolved into a counterculture holiday, where people gather to celebrate and consume cannabis.
