Just when you thought 'Dr.' Phil couldn't stoop any lower for ratings...

I've always had my misgivings about the validity of what "Dr." Phil is good for. Bringing to light issues, sure. I've flat out refused to watch his show (ie: when my fiancee is) for quite some time after he's only out for one thing... money. I understand that he needs ratings, wants to net the big show... whatever. But this is going too far.
Remember those girls that tricked that other one into going over to their house? Then they gang-beat her unconscious and now has loss of vision and hearing, and even her own father didn't recognize her?

Well, Dr. Phil just bailed them out at 30k in exchange they tell their story on his show.

What a genuine, money-hungry, low-life POS.

That will never go to air, Oprah won't let her brand be associated with this.

Maybe he is planning on luring them onto his set and then gang-beating them on live TV?

I've always thought Dr. Phil was just Jerry Springer with less chairs thrown and more Texas twang.

His wife and her plastic surgery face are far and away the creepiest part of either show.

Before Dr.Phil had his own show, I used to actually enjoy him on Oprah. I would tape his appearances and we would watch them. Now he's just a Jerry Springer. Actually, I hate calling him that because I actually like Jerry Springer's personality, not his show. Too bad he got greedy, he was a helpful guy at one time. Just the sight of his face turns me off now. I think we will see Dr. Phil stoop much lower than this through the years. In fact I'd bet on it. The only thing I don't agree with is the comments about his wife. I always thought she was quite cute. But besides her looks, she's no more moral or better than her creepy husband.

reminds me of the fall of Maury Povich. Guy was a legitimate (well, as legitimate as you can get on TV) journalist at one point, but degenerated to the point that every show featured "Scooped-out-face guy" and other assorted freaks, or "bad teens". All these shows end up reducing themselves to appeal to the lowest common denominator at some point.
Also can't forget the appearance by "Chin-ball Boy"

I've never understood the draw of this clown. My mon just loves him. "His advice is so terrific...." Well duh. That's because the people on his show are morons. "My husband beats me, what should I do?" Dr Phil: "You need to leave that house." Crowd cheers enthusiastically. Captain Obvious to the rescue!
