Wow! Of nine teams with 100+ point seasons, only the Oilers, Pens, and Kings advance past round one!

Door wide open for the Oilers now, we've got our opportunity now we've got to seize it and avoid the fates of the other top teams in the CPHL.

Wow...this was an unexpected come back for us... Down 0-3 to a very talented and strong Caps team and we somehow clawed our way into the second round. Jason Spezza was huge in this one as he was demoted to the 3rd line and he came up big setting up the GWG tonight and scored another.

The Gretzky Conference was the conference of the underdog so far this playoffs as all the lower rated seeds move on. We entered the playoffs as the #5 seed and we are now the top seed left in the conference and will enjoy home ice as long as we last through the Gretzky playoffs. We will have a tough Nords squad to deal with next round who are straight off the upset win over the very strong Thrashers.

We would like to congratulate Helsa on a great season as he built a great team and was not a team we wanted for a first round match up. Our teams were about as even as could be and it is too bad we squared off in round 1 and one of us had to go.

Neil you had the best team all season long and were built for a long run. It is too bad that your season has ended so prematurely. Sometimes upsets are in the cards and unfortunately for you your team fell victim to an early upset.

The Pens are looking forward to moving on and want to continue our strong play that we had over the last 4 games against the Nords.

Wow! What a crazy playoff year this has been so far! By far the top team in the regular season knocked out by a team that was a surprise to get into the playoffs, the Bruins, Wild and Panthers all gone after great seasons. The Pens, who most pegged to win the series, did so in an amazing fashion having gone down 3 games to none and coming back to take the series.....crazy, crazy, crazy!

Congrats to everyone moving forward and to everyone else for solid seasons and a lot of fun!

If so Neil got screwed big time by the sim. Not only in this game but in the whole series.

Weird results not just in the play-offs but overall this year in the sim.

I can't defend the sim, but trading goalies just before the playoffs is a risky gambit for any team.

I guess, but a 82 OV goalie should be able to handle 15 shots a game.

And that has nothing to do with the disparity in talent everywhere else on the team. Neil should have won that series with me in net.

It seemed as though the sim wanted Hasek to have a bad year. He sucked in Philly this season, and thus was a big risk in my mind regardless of OV. But yeah, you'd expect more from a guy rated that high. I guess ratings aren't everything!

As an aside, in Game 5 of our series Kipper stopped 7 of 12 shots and Brodeur stopped 17 of 22 (and allowed five goals three times in the series). Those are two very highly rated goalies...

Do keep in mind that for the first i'd say quarter of the season, I did have the 2nd best team in the league to Neil's Thrashers. The injury to Slava derailed the team for atleast half the season, and it took me a while to find the chemestry again.

I too am shocked, but the way my team was playing, and had played at the begining of the season, I thought I had a shot.

Atleast more than the lack of faith you gave me Moon

Moon is always angry or upset about something.

Great job by the Nords, count me officially on the Nordique bandwagon

I am rarely angry but often loud about the things I don't like.

Anger takes too much energy. Ranting is very easy though!

As much as Hasek had a bad series, Kolzig deserves a lot of credit. He's a guy that does well in the sim and is proving it again.

Other than that - who knows.

As KG and I have both shown this post-season we really don't have any clue how the sim works either.

Well, not much more you can do. Outshoot the Nords 27-15 in game 7 and lose 4-1. Congrats to the Nords advancing (as well as Pittsburgh!). To the 8 teams, the best of luck in the playoffs.

I just want to say thanks for the opportunity for letting me a part of the league. I've thoroughly enjoyed my time in the CPHL and appreciate all the commish's/gm's that I dealt with in the 2 years so far. I have a lot of personal stuff that i've been dealing with lately and my time has been substantially cut so i'll make a decision as to what's best for the league if I return or not. I had the 2 year commitment when I joined but now with my dad going through chemo it's given me hardly any free time and I want to be fair to the league so i'll make a decision shortly (either during or right at the end of the playoffs). Congrats again Rob and to all those others who remain and thanks for all the talks etc to all gm's this year!

Yeah, Kolzig is a Sim Favorite to be sure. Jacques Lemaire has to be coach of the year and coaching must have a huge impact come playoffs. Definitely the weirdest results the Sim has ever spit out....and thats saying something. That crazy broad goes nuttier with each passing day.

I think Moon is like Matlock. Unless it's the Detroit Lions or the St.Louis Cardinals...good chance he hates it!

Wow ... the Nords took it from the Thrashers. Certainly did not see that one coming!
