If you be looking for GOOD bad movies (and you know what I mean) you can't go wrong with REPTILIAN.
It came out in 04 I think maybe earlier, and it easily the worst monster/Godzilla type movie ever. It is so terrible it's fantastic. Get a bunch of friends over, pop some corn, pass around a J if your into that, and enjoy the awesome humor of FAIL!!!
It's better than a car accident. It's hilarious in it's terribility!!! (That should be a word!)
Several friends of mine and I HAD to buy it (and I don't even own a DVD collection, I think I have 8 DVD's) because it is actually enjoyable for how bad it is. I think they stopped selling it around 2 years ago though. HMV was offering it for 5.99 and they were flying off the shelves. Definitely popular in that 'campy' way.
Watch this movie! You WILL be disappointed!!! A British scientist that keeps slipping into a Southern US drawl, a Godzilla type creature named 'Little Gary' by it's alien overlords, a war room that is smaller than my childhood playroom (with less technology too!) a rubber suit creature deathmatch at the end, 'experimental army jetpacks', and aliens that talk by violently shaking their plastic masks...
THIS MOVIE HAS IT ALL!!! (Which is exactly what a stoned friend of mine happily exclaimed when the jetpacks showed up!)

Heat wasn't so much a bad movie as Al Pacino is the worst over-actor EVER. His only good roles have ever been The Godfather and Scarface, oh and ...And Justice for All.

As it stands, Swimfan is the only movie I've ever walked out on, so that's got to be the worst I've seen.
Others:
Spider-Man 3 (really really wanted to walk out, the whole Saturday Night Fever bit was soooo stupid)
The Sweetest Things (oh God, the horror)
Battlefield Earth (laughing at, instead of laughing with)
Doomsday (it's Mad Max, no it's Resident Evil, no it's Gladiator, no it's Robin Hood!)

Ya, well 'Life is Beautiful' also won Best Picture. That was excerable art too.
If you can tell me that you don't cringe when you think of him in Scent of a Woman, with that "hoo wah' Marine bit throughout then i guess that is your type of movie. Not mine by a long shot. Hammy, Hammy, Hammy.
Cross-reference that with the dung in 'Waiting for Richard' to know the absolute depths he can reach. The backwards ballcap and the Mr. Cool persona are all so vomitous as he waxes on about his dissection of the 'Great Bard'.
I will say that he was magic in Glengarry Glenross.

What was the name of that movie where Vin Diesel bunny hops 15' in the air on a dirt bike?
Actually any movie with Vin in it is pretty terrible.

Real psychological (society) dramas dont need something this cheap to support their message. Its like if you tried to get across a point that "you can do whatever you want in your life if you try hard enough" by making your characters walk through walls, would that be artsy or stupid and pretentions? Chirrughs (sp) character is dumbed down like Michael Myers yet critis are having orgams over him, why is that?
Or another example, point that you cannot change your destiny no matter what you do is driven across just by stupid decision by Lewellen (sp). Dramatic implications do not happen, if they didnt build their message on a ridiculous and cheap premise.

99% of Hollywood dramas feature "super hero" type protaganonists who are able to overcome impossible odds to bring any sort of catastrophe to a neat and tidy happy ending. At one time it was even illegal in hollywood to produce a movie where a villain does not get punished by the end of the movie. In this landscape, any sort of non-traditional storyline and ending seems like a drink of ice cold water in a parched desert.
Which begs the question: What is your idea of a great drama, the antithesis of NCFOM, if you will?

Agreed, with the possible exception of Boiler Room, but then he was pretty much just playing himself.

He was in Saving Private Ryan, but didn't ruin it as he rarely spoke.

I thought 11 was great. I'm not sure I still really got what happened in 12. And 12 wasn't nearly as cool a caper flick as 11 was.
You've just reminded me that MI2 might be the worst movie I've ever seen.

No way! Pitch Black was awesome, and Chronicles of Riddick had that campy sci-fi charm to it too. Everything else he's ever done though - ugh.

I honestly don't understand a word you just said. Dumbed down? From what? Chigur is the embodiment of fate. He is pure, raw evil. And yes you can't escape destiny, that's conveyed in scenes involving the quarter.
What stupid decision(s) are you talking about in regards to Lewellyn? His decision to go back to the Mexican to bring him water?
You're set in your ways clearly.. but I really don't understand why you hate it so much. And unfortunately trying to read your post explaining it only makes me scratch my head more..

Well I don't really know how to explain it better. Maybe look up reviews on imdb.com that gave this movie one star, they probably describe clearer what I think of NCFOM.

It is a bad movie for sure and I thought of putting it down not because it is the worst movie I have seen but in relation to how much hype the movie recieved and how pumped I was to see it, it probably was the most disappointing movie I have ever seen.
Most of the movies in this thread were obviously crap when they came out and have been labeled as crap. I am not sure there are many movies that are regarded by some to be so "great" and are actual huge piles of crap like No Country for Old Men.

For starters it is boring as hell. Not anything really that interesting about it. The general story is boring, the characters are boring and the individual scenes are boring.
I thought the acting was way overrated and other than a good wig and possibly make-up on Chigur, not sure that anyone else really stood out as doing a good job.
Perhaps it was that I found the movie so boring that the actors failed to connect with me but as I said earlier I was super pumped to see this movie and it 100% let me down.
