Finished 80 pages of revisions only to get them back again for another 20 or so pages of revisions and a section re-write.
Writing a 15 page paper right now doing a cost-benefit analysis of a high-speed rail link between Calgary and Edmonton.

F yeah!
here it is 7:30 and I am finished both of my essays!!!
unfortunately, I don't see sleep happening. Although I didn't expect to be able to make it to my first class today, so that is a good thing...
I think I have it programmed somewhere in my mind to never make the minimum word/pages
12-15 pages = 11 full pages in my mind
5-7 pages = one paragraph on the 5th page.
I don't know why I do this to myself. I always get scared that the prof will dock me on it.
Also I don't plagiarize, although I am always scared that I forgot to cite somthing, or I did it wrong, and get caught on it.
anyone else?

I tend to just squeak by on the minimum too. And I am ALWAYS worried about forgetting about citations and then getting caught on it. Hasn't happened, but I am always a little nervous.

After a week of being thoroughly destroyed writing my honours thesis and preparing for my presentation, I've gotten some great news. I just got a 10 week extension. Apparently, my supervisor thought my final chapter was absolutely brutal and recommended an extension to the Dean. Phew, stress symptoms are done.

Haha! Great thinking. my 10-12 page paper is 9.5 pages, but it's brilliant so the prof is going to be so overwhelmed by amazingness that he won't even realize it's a tad on the short side.
As for citing, the entire concept is academic BS. Everybody knows that wikipedia is a gold mine for information! I had a long discussion with a prof about it one time and the jest of the conversation was if it's general 'common knowledge' you don't need to cite it.
The worst for citation is history or poli sci papers. yuck.
I give you props for starting a paper the night before it's due. Impressive my friend. I usually have a rule that a paper takes a day to finish if you work the whole time.

I love only having elective options left to get my degree. For the entire semester, this is the onslaught of essay work that I've had to deal with:
1 take home final worth 30%. 500 words. In groups of 4. No outside sources...
I can definitely relate to pulling an all nighter for a big essay due in a day or two though. I've done my fair share of that before, so good luck to those that find themselves in that situation! I'll be having a few late nights of my own watching Flames games...

Fret no longer about the length of your paper!
Good trick any essay writer would find useful.

I dunno, I've used it a couple times with no problems. Meh, use it at your own risk then..

Usually I go way too long with papers(I always have trouble deciding what to cut out), but this time I'm about half a page short. I just tried this technique, and I dunno. It seems kinda obvious. Maybe I'm just being paranoid. I'm gonna have to make a game-time decision here...

Last semester for me too. 3 MC finals coming up. One 5 page paper, and a take home final to write about Led Zeppelin. Pretty slack.

As it turns out, writing final papers 2 days before the playoffs is a bad idea. Who would have thought.

Yeah, we're in the same class. Although I never go unless we're writing a test. I heard the final was a 500 word essay, no outside sourcing, and you can go into groups of up to 4 people. Pretty much the easiest final I think I've ever written or will have to write for school.
How's your group presentation looking?

It sure is comforting to know that everyone deals with motivation problems when it comes to essay writing. It's such a daunting task before you have a topic and/or thesis hammered out.

That's like general physiology II right?
I had to take 463 (animal physiology II) since my major was zoology, a lot of the same labs but then some other ones which were much more awesome and involved operating on live rabbits.
When I look back I thought physiology sucked at the time but compared to the tediousness of an office job it was really quite interesting and certainly something you won't get to do at any other time of your life.
