Wow, Halladay's already working 8 innings. Great game for the Jays, I think if they can take 3 of 5 games they should make the playoffs ... they did in the first five, this five, 1-0 so far. Nice to see Thomas and Wells off to quick starts.

One issue for the Jays last year was they lacked the ability to sweep a series. It seemed that whenever they'd win the 1st two games, they'd lay an egg in the final game. Nice to see them sweep a series early on, against the Red Sox of all teams.
The Blue Jays could be 6-0 right now, a little bad luck against the Yankees hurt them but this series against the Sox was very, very impressive.
I must say, I am surprised.

I'm not sure of the effect of Jet lag and days off had on the Sox coming back from Japan. Could have contributed to the sweep. As for those Yankees, I think that they have taken a significant step back this year with a rookie field manager and aging high priced veterans. I'm hoping this is the year in which the Jays finally take 2nd place and have a realistic shot at the Wild Card. If they stay healthy I'd say it's not out of the realm of posibilities.

not to nit pick, but the jays finished second two seasons ago. but i definitely agree, there is no reason why they can't step up and challenge for at least the wild card, let alone the division.

Oh yeah I remember that. They climbed into second after they were eliminated from Playoff contention and the Red Sox tanked down the stretch (Ie I didn't watch the last couple of weeks of that season so my memory doesn't remember )

Hopefully, Thomas continues his hitting. If I recall correctly, he had a horrible start last year. It would be terrific if he could keep the pace for the entire season.

With 156 games still to go it's still a very long season, but count me in as being impressed by this Jays team so far. If this rotation can stay healthy the Jays are going to have a good chance to win every night.

Thomas is a notorious slow starter. It definitely seemed like he was poised to continue that streak in Spring Training as he did nothing until the last game. You`re right though, if he has found his power stroke already this could be a HUGE year for him.

Wow, Wells just crushed that pitch to give the Jays a 3-1 lead ... it was one of those hits that you knew from the swing that it was going out. They are lighting up this poor guy at the moment. Doesn't look like he is going to last long tonight.

Well geez, now Burnett's taking it on the chin. He's looking terrible this inning.

Well the Blue Jays are 0-3 in one-run games this year. They really should be better than 4-3. Frustrating to watch them blow the close ones.

Your closer simply can't blow that game with 2 outs after that momentum changing homer by Thomas.

Another terrible outing for Jeremy Accardo tonight. Can't wait unti B.J. Ryan is back with the club.

I've got Accardo in my pool unfortunately, but his last game really wasn't all that much his "fault". Scuriero should have got that double play ball. It was taylor made for it and he messed it up. Season's early, stuff happens. 5 more games in we'll see.

As an A's fan its sure great to see the young guys battling hard out there. I didn't expect to win the series let alone sweep the Jays.
