I have this post in the classifieds as well, but after some recent developments I am thinking it would be cool to try and put together an exclusive Calgarypuck.com team. Here is the copied post from the classifieds, and mods if you want this moved, just delete or lock it since the thread is duplicated in classifieds. But I think since this is not a "for-profit" calgarypuck community orientated thing, I would like to get the word out since I need to have a roster set up by mid-April to make it fly.
I am currently looking for players for the NCHL team I am going to be running this summer. The team is going to be a 'C' division team which is middle of the road skill level. Not beginner, but not ex junior A. The schedule will consist of 16 games and between 1 and 4 playoff games. So 17 games minimum.
Rules are typical of rec-league. No heavy contact (you can still rub guys out) slapshots are allowed, full equipment is mandatory, and the league provides 2 referees and a score-keeper for each game.
Fees for the league will be about $300 for the season, plus socks and Jerseys which usually are about $50-100 depending on if you get 1 set or 2.
Games will start in early May, and full payment is required by then, but I require a 50% deposit to hold your space.
Please PM me if you are interested, and include a brief description of your previous hockey experience. Myself I am 33 played up to midget AAA and I find I fit well in B division which I still play in as well, but I wanted a second team for the summer for mainly fitness reasons. I would love to have some CP guys on my team so please, feel free to sign up!
Once I have a roster in place I would set up a shinny day, to asess the skill level and make sure we are in the right division.
