I have not heard of such a promotion but I defiantely wish there was one. I would love a sub right now. Anyone heard of anything like this? I don' think that American promotions typically come to Canada at the same time...

I saw Yahoo banners advertising this, but I am not sure what region they were intended for.

I'm almost positive that it's only for American locations.

And all subways are independently owned, so not all will decide to do the promotion.

They may not have a choice. They're independently owned, but still have to abide by Subway rules and most promos.

I don't think so. I know at Hallmark it's suggested that we do the promos, but if we REALLY don't want to. We don't have to. There are a few promos that are signatures of Hallmark that we have to do, but other than that, there's a lot of choice involved. I remember the $3 6 inch subs weren't promo'd at all the Subways.

I think Quiznos is now cheaper than subway.
I do enjoy both though my favorite is a double meat breaded chicken breast sub from Mr. Sub though.

You want a good sub in Calgary, you have to hit a Safeway with one of those
fancy shamcy delis. They Make them in front of you and a 6" weighs about
1lbs.and costs only $4.99

I was at an American Subway last week...couldn't pass up "The Feast" - another option that doesn't exist up here. That was the mother of all subs.

Back in the day when I ran a pizza store that was part of an international chain we used to get people calling all the time saying they saw an ad on TV, and we'd have to ask them what channel, explain that it was a different country, etc.
After a while we eventually started to "match" those offers, but reminded people it was US dollars, and with the (at the time) 40% exchange rate it still worked out to a pretty good deal for our customers. Now you wouldn't really be able to do that with our dollars being at par.
Keep in mind that there are several reasons for them being able to offer lower prices. Labour is cheaper (minimum wage is $5.85 there), shipping of food is cheaper with more stores in a concentrated area, and of course competition is far more cuthroat.
