Default My Monitor Keeps Flashing On & Off

Ok, so the other day I wanted to watch the junior game on my TV. It was only broadcast online. So I bought a 20 ft VGA cable and hooked it up. The TV said "invalid" input, so I hooked the monitor back up and I think I changed the refresh rate to 60 hz.

The game worked fine (we lost, boo-urns) but then when I went to hook the monitor back up, now it flashes. I tried adjusting things back to how I thought they were, as well as going through the troubleshoot feature. Still I'm getting the screen flashing on and off.

It's on more than it's off, but it's really annoying.

Suggestions?

I assume then that it is a CRT monitor (big fat one). What is the refresh rate set to now? Try bumping it down again, even to 60 Hz. Then slowly bump it back up to a reasonable level (80 should usually be fine).

randomly and it's a 15" LCD

I'll try bumping it up though
