Cool ... thanks for posting that. I've always been interested in DB Cooper's story. I like to think he survived and managed to escape to Mexico or some other such locale. It's interesting that they can't provide a natural link between this parachute location and the location of the found money. If that is indeed his parachute then Cooper must have have travelled from his landing site before hiding/losing the money that washed up on the Columbia River beach, meaning he survived his jump.

He died during the jump or shortly after he probably hit the ground in severe weather screaming like a girl traveling at 50 miles an hour at a tree.

Then he become grizzly fertilizer. The police might not always get their man, but smokey the bear did.

Geez, aren't you Mr. Sunshine. Personally, I prefer the romantic criminal angle Ford brought to the table.

IIRC, none of the currency he had on that plane has shown up in circulation other than the 5800 that was found.

I think he died when he fell....but it is and always will be an interesting story until solved if it ever does.

Yeah and then *****SPOILERS in white...*****

DB Cooper died in the prison escape, but it turns out he had been hiding in prison all this time! Obviously the truth.

I agree, it's likely he either died when he jumped, or sometime later in his getaway. It's fun to think he didn't though, and until proven otherwise we'll never know for sure. As for none of the money ever showing up, other than that one batch, if he made it to Mexico and then on to South America or someplace like Thailand he might have been able to spend it without it getting noticed. Forensics and international criminal investigations were a lot less developed back then.

It is an interesting story. What intrigues me in this article is that after almost 40 years the FBI is trying to get the public to come forward with information.

Who knows, maybe he did manage to make it to the ground and elude capture. I actually think he probably did. If your going to go to the length of hijacking an airplane to raise some money you likely put some thought into the get away plan. I for one, wouldn't use a parachute for the first time from a jet and I'll bet he didn't either.

I'll always read stories related to DB Cooper as long as I see them.

It was super cold the night he jumped off the plane and the terrain was terrible. He also had no survival supplies on his either. However, his body has never been found.

Did they ever find the "bomb"? I wonder if it was a functioning explosive or fake?
