Seems to me that if something has been steadily increasnig in popularity for the better part of two decades, it's officailly not a fad, redardless of your personal opinion of it.
I understand what a fad is. Seems to me that a small section of the poulation enjoys that music. None of my middle aged friends like that crap nor do my parents. For most it's a fad that never caught on.

In terms of what chicks wear, I love a lot of the fashion fads mentioned when the chick is ubber hot AND manages to pull it off well. The problem is just that no more than 1% manage both - and the other 99% ruin the net positive effect.

the whole vacuous, materialist posturing a lot of young women take these days. Seems to have really taken off in the last couple years with the whole Paris Hilton/celebutante phenomenon... designer everything, small dog, big sunglasses, oversized bag.

weak.

Learn something new every day. Uggs are pretty stupid looking.

The fist pound? Meh. I do that with friends. It's less formal than hand shaking and better yet, you're guaranteed not to be touching skin that may have recently directed a penis toward a urinal and escaped unwashed.

This is like someone in the 80's saying "rock and roll is a fad".

It had been going for more than 30 years, the young folks liked it and the old folks didn't.

1) ######bag guys who tuck the loose part of their sleeves under their armpits, even when their t-shirt is already too undersized. The intention is to woo females with their manly biceps.

2) The word "glorious."

3) Sideways hats.

4) Anything EMO and Indy. These are so overused and so conformist now that it's just not cool anymore. Be yourself.

a lot of this is seriously hilarious. I'm so out of touch with NA pop culture living here, and to read everything on this thread gives me some great images of how trends are right now back in the old home town.

Fair enough. I guess what I dislike most about it is people still say "pound" when doing it. At least that is what I have found. I am going to start saying "handshake" when approaching people now.

On that note, the recent trend in Japan when I was there was Hip Hop clothing. Now THAT was funny, especially over there.
