I remember going to the Wild/Flames game last year on St. Patrick's Day and debating whether or not to wear green as it's Minnesota's colour.

I've always wondered if the green beer makes your whizz go green. I refuse to drink the stuff, but it would be a pretty freaky side effect.

Someone needs to start a green burger tradition.....if for no other reason than to turn your stool weird colours.

I've never noticed that before in regards to whizzin. But as I mentioned before, I've definitely turned what comes out the other end green a few times. Another funny after effect I had one year was, at the end of the night I brushed my teeth which got the green off my teeth and tongue, only to wake up the next morning and have them all green again. Good times.

Damn, even talking about this makes me wanna get into the green beers. Why, oh why does St. Pats have to fall on a Monday this year?? They should just make it the 3rd Saturday of every March, done deal.

In true spirit, I choose to celebrate on both days! Isn't that what everyone is doing this year?

Regarding green beer: I've never had the stuff, and probably never will. Something about food coloring simply put into my beer by the waitress seems extremely wrong!
That said, I'm not too stuck on drinking only Irish ales. I like guiness, but don't order it at the bar too often, as I'm a college student and Guiness typically is more expensive than other domestics served.
This saturday I was drinking Pilsner (Hey I'm in Lethbridge, don't judge). I mean it has a green label right?
Tonight I might bust out the Jamesons whiskey. I'm typically a Jack Daniels or Knob Creek man, but I might make an exception tonight.

In Summary: Happy St. Patrick Days!!!!!

In respect to Edmonton not celebrating this holy event, I decided to come back to Calgary and party it up with the goof troop old school style. I'm thinking this night could end up ridiculous by the time it is over. All i got to do tomorrow is drive to Edmonton, so drinks start at 3.

I don't know what everyone is speaking about Edm.
I mean I love to diss Edm every chance I get, but 2 years ago I went up there for a pubcrawl put on by the university and had a great time!
That said, I was partying with Calgarians.
Also of course that night it snowed balls, and I was stuck there for another day which sucked!

EDIT: I also don't have class tomorrow till 1, so I'm going to be getting in trouble tonight

Went on a club crawl on Saturday to celebrate, started drinking at 2...felt like I had been run over by a truck the next day. Great time though.

I'll probably just have a Guinness or two at home tonight since I have about 289374987234 things to finish before the week is over.

From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Patrick's_Day

So like does Ireland change the actual date of their National holiday? It'd be like moving Canada Day because it falls on a Sunday or something.

Woo Hoo.

However, green beer pisses me off to no end.
Proper Irish beer is Black, and nothing you can do to it will change it green.
St. Patrick's Day without Guiness isn't worth celebrating!
How true. No self respecting Irishman would drink green beer on St. Patrick's Day. Best St. Patrick's Day I ever had was in Mt. Gambier, South Australia in 1999. Can't remember the day of the week, but that part of Australia was largly settled by the Irish. A big group of Canadians and the rest of the staff from our office went to the local Irish Pub. No green beer, one of our Ukrainian Canadian friends asked, they scoffed at him saying Green Beer was for Americans. They did have green ice cubes. If you drank 7 Pints of Guiness you got a tee shirt that gave you free admission to St. James Gate.

After sucking back a bunch of Guinness we switched to Jameson Irish Whisky. At Midnight the pub kicked everybody out. I could not believe it, and was extremely mad. But midnight was their regular closing time and they were not going to stay open late for St. Patricks Day. When the alarm went off at 7 the next morning I was extremely thankfull that the Pub had gave us the boot early. I truly had the luck of the Irish.

But what fun is St. Patty's Day if you don't poop green the next morning? That's the best part of the whole thing! And I've noticed that the brighter the green reflects the amount I drank/level of fun I had the night before. Last year it was so bright I almost needed sunglasses to look at it. That's the kind of night you tell your grandkids about!

Actually if you read the second article:
Quote:
The St. Patrick's Festival Committee in Dublin confirmed that next year's parade would be March 17 as usual. In addition, Monday, March 17, will remain an official day off of work in Ireland.
If the Irish are celebrating St. Patrick's Day, and the church even overturned their own doctraine to have the "feast" after Easter, I think we should be celebrating it today, don't you?

Heck, you could claim you're a Catholic and do it again after Easter if you really wanted to!

Things like this just go to show it doesn't have to be a crack house.

It can be a crack home.
