Nope, I think he actually dies while trying to get Sun and the baby off the island.

So Michael it is.....wonder how he got on the boat? And why was the captain so forthcoming?

Jin's tombstone read 9/22/2004 so he definitely never made it off the island. Whether he's dead or not is another story. I don't think he is.

This is the second time a cell phone should have clued me in on what was going on. The first was the very first flash forward with Jack, when he was using a Motorola KRZR in the season finale last year.

Ben knew the boat was out there.

Remember when Michael brought the guys that Ben wanted, he gave him the fishing boat and Walt and told him to go in a certain direction and a boat will find him.

The question I have is where is Walt?

In the preview for next week Ben says something along the lines of "how far will a man go for his son?" So I'm assuming that Ben has Walt under some sort of watch, and Michael is doing his bidding so Ben won't hurt Walt (ala Syhid, if you want your friends safe you'll do my bidding).

I think the captain is so straight forward as if they Desmond or Syhid are Ben's people they know anyway. If they're not, what does it matter they have no power or control.

I missed the cell phone thing, and was trying to figure out what Jin was doing off the island if Sun was the 6th person. I assumed he escaped and wasn't one of the media spotlighted people. TV has us conditioned to think of a phone as mearly a prop as times and technology changes so quickly. We really have to remember what was common in 2004 and know that today's phones are the future and pre-2004 are the past. Just something to throw us for a loop I guess.

I liked the episode, wonder what's going on over at Loche's camp with Ben free.

Oh also loved the line about "not only did they have the money and resources to stage a fake plane crash, complete with 324 dead bodies, where'd they get 324 dead bodies? That why we want to find Benjermin Lynis" Loved that line . . . that and "Jin, Sun had an affair with another man" made my eyes open as wide as saucers and my jaw hit the floor for a good five minutes.

Actually, September 22, 2004 is the date the plane crashed on the Island. Seems to suggest that the Oceanic Six are telling the world that Jin died in the crash.

Then he's either alive and still on the Island, alive and off the Island but in hiding, or dead and buried right there but with the wrong date.

Good episode but didn't really seem to move things forward too much. So what if Widmore has the black box? I suppose the reveal of Michael was supposed to be a big shocker but we've been predicting that for a while now.

I missed the Jin flashback as well. Although doesn't that just make it five of the Oceanic six that have been revealed? Does Aaron actually count? I mean, technically he couldn't have survived the plane crash as he wasn't alive back then.

Anyway, on to Michael, is there any evidence that his participation on the ship is due to some present day threats from Ben or that Michael had an episode similar to Desmond and had contact with Ben then? After all, didn't Ben send Michael and Walt away from the Island at a different bearing than Daniel sent the helicopter?

Claire was extremely pregnant when the plane crashed though. So I guess it depends on how you look at it.

I've clearly missed out on something. Are people saying the the baby Sun delivered in this episode was born before they were ever on the island?

Why did Jin go give the panda to Sun but not enter the room? WTF. I'm so confused. Clearly Jin is still alive but doesn't want Sun to know...

EDIT: nvm I just rewatched part of it and realized the woman holding the baby in the hospital bed wasn't Sun. Flashforward/flashback all into one. Tricky!

the 6th could be Aaron, could be someone else as well. Maybe Michael is a possibility?

In an interview I linked above (post 117), a producer said the Oceanic 6 would be know by the end of episode 7. That was the 7th episode, so I think the 6 are named and Aaron is included.

But it is Lost, so who can be sure?
