Me too. Dammit ET!
I had to have the top bunk of my bunk bed taken off because I was so afraid of aliens. It just creeped the hell out of me for some reason. I wouldn't be able to sleep with that thing over top of me...I don't know why I thought it was aliens but once that thing was gone, I was good...I have no idea why that's what did it, but it was.

I used to think getting "dumped" meant that someone dumped you out of the back of a dumptruck

I'm starting to remember the fears I had of becoming a teenager. Elementary school is terrible for spreading lies...I remember hear one time that reaching puberty was the worst thing that ever could happen to you...and I fear it like nothing else.

I used to think that if I put my feet near the side of the bed when going to bed (after turning out the light), monsters would grab me by the ankles and drag me under.
Wait, I still think that...

I also used to be convinced that the xenomorph from alien was just waiting for me to turn my head to kill me as I slept. I always slept facing the door.

When I was in elementary school, I thought that if you went to Jack James Jr. High, the bad kids would force you to smoke so you would become addicted.

Similar. In grade 7 at Louis Riel someone told me that ######ed kids had to go to Woodman Jr High. ( I think that was what it was called, on Elbow drive.) I had no reason to disbelieve. So much later the thought held, and when I'd meet someone who went there, I would say "really? Woodman huh" and assume he/she was mentally challenged.

I used to think the TLC song "Waterfalls" went something like "Go, go Jason Waterfall!" instead of "Don't go chasing waterfalls". I also remember thinking the reflections of the water emptying in the tub after I had a bath were "seagulls". Those seem to be the only ones coming to mind at the moment.

I used to think those white, tube like Highway road markers with the black stripes on the top were giant strike anywhere matches in case you had to change a tire at night.

Haha nice, me too. When I was about six, me and my cousin(4 or 5yrs old) were being babysat by his older sister(about 14 or 15). She for some reason let us watch Halloween, and we saw that one scene where Jason grabs the girls feet from under the bed. Later we were talking about it in his room, clearly spooked. So he puts his feet down, and suddenly these two hands grab them! My older cousin was hiding under there just to scare the **** out of us! After that, I did my best long-jump immitation to my bed until I was almost a teenager, talk about warping young minds...

Haha I bet you scared the crap out of your dad with that one. You could've milked that into getting an entire dump truck of G.I. Joes out of him.

Whoever mentioned the ones about Ed Whalen not actually announcing live over the PA at the Dome, and about the PA guy not being inside the scoreboard, wow. That is bang on!
Everything else mentioned in this thread, I still believe.

Ya Woodman, its right before Heritage Dr at the top of the hill on Elbow Dr, and another street which the name escapes me. Bishop Grandin H.S.(where I went) is further down the hill on the same road.
