In fairness, the title of your thread is better.

Let me get this straight. You went all the way to Vancouver to get a cup of coffee? Or are you saying they are now in Calgary?

Once I stopped at a place in Canmore that made the best coffee. After that, I would always stop in the way by, and even made a special trip on a few nice days (like today) when I was looking for someplace to take a drive to. Unfortunately, they closed down a couple years ago and I haven't found a replacement yet.

Perhaps this is a good excuse to go for a walk today...

I love artigiano coffee. Even their drip stuff is miles ahead of anywhere else. I literally walk all the way through downtown, passing countless Starbucks and Blenz (I don't need to tell you how many their are in Van) to get their sweet, sweet traditional cappucino.

I also buy their beans to take home, they're fantastic. Not sure if they have the same stuff there, as it changes by the season, but the Costa Rica El Indio blend is really good.

Artigiano is the flicken best. A couple other ones up here on Main St are giving a run for their money though (Lugz Cafe, JJ Bean). Living in Mt Pleasant is awesome because you can smell the roasting of coffee beans from the nearby roasteries/cafes. Anyway, Vancouver in general is a great city for a good cup of coffee.

Happy to hear you've finally got Artigiano in Calgary.

That was the price of a cappcucino, I'm guessing the price of drip coffee is substantially cheaper. I know Starbucks drip coffee only about 10 or 20 cents more than Tim Hortons.

Personally, I think Tim Horton's "cappucino" is a much bigger rip off. $3 for something that is made out of an instant powder that you can buy at the grocery store and make yourself for about 50 cents a mug.

There's a pretty good place heading out on Highway 22 coming out of Black Diamond. It's in an old wooden building / house, and definitely family run. They keep a dog in there, and it's a very relaxed atmosphere. Great coffee, great tea too. Every time I head down to Fernie, I always make a trip.

It's only about 25c more than a grande latte at starbucks, and tastes about 1000 times better. I went there last weekend based on the earlier thread, and spent all this week looking forward to going there again this weekend. It did not disappoint.

I will be in Vancouver for a few days next week, so I figure I'll get my fix there as well.

I tried this place today, after reading about it on CP and in the Herald. Holy cow, what a goooood cup of coffee! :-)

I can't wait to buy some beans for my espresso maker from there!

Heading south out of Black Diamond? And is it on the left or the right? I'm heading to the pass in the very near future, so I would like to swing in for a cup on the road!

I tried this based off this thread on Wednesday. Best coffee I've ever had.

They will be getting a lot of business from me.
