Default Can you cook frozen chicken breast?

So... I'm feeling some chicken tonight but I wasn't smart enough to thaw some overnight last night.

Does anyone have some insight as to whether or not you can cook frozen chicken?

I've done it before and it turned out fine.

Or you can just stick it in warm water and it'll thaw pretty quickly.

I have a George Foreman grill, and I always throw the chicken breasts in it straight out of the freezer. I find they actually turn out more moist than when I let them thaw.

Yes you can cook froozen chicken

Actually if you are going to cut it up it is easier when it is partially froozen.

I'm not rich enough to afford never frozen chicken breast and I lack the foresight to thaw out chicken in advance of meal time. Ergo, I cooks me a lot of frozen chicken breast.

This thread rocks!
I always have chicken in my freezer. Whenever I want chicken I always have to wait a day to eat it. (sometimes the next day is too hecktick to I have to wait 2)
Man I'm going to go foreman up some chicken right now!

Burgers I never defrost, what does everyone say about steak? (I always defrost)

Dice up the chicken and put it in a skillet with some onions and some sweet and sour sauce. Do a stir fry of some veggies and cook up some rice. Volia! a quick and tastey meal!

I'd say same heat, just longer. But that comes from someone who almost always thaws.

So what's the verdict on these Foreman Grills!? Sounds like quite a few of you have them... maybe I should get one. Are they better than ovens for stuff like Steaks? I don't have access to a BBQ because I live in a Basement Suite.... any suggestions?

Can I buy the cheap Black and Decker rip offs? Or do they suck?

That's a good way to get really sick actually.

Cut it up and it cooks faster or defrost it in the microwave...no warm water.

I use them a lot in the winter for making burgers. No grease splattering all over the place. Clean up is also quick.

Now get out there and pick one up

I cook my chicken breast when it's frozen, but I don't dice it before cooking. I make sure I cook it at a low temperature on the stovetop in my cast-iron pan. I'll put another pan over the bottom to make an oven of sorts.

It's done when the juices run clear and a white film forms on the chicken. You can always cut it a bit to make sure it's done.

I was a stay-at-home dad for years, and none of my kids came down with salmonella or e coli, so I think I'm somewhat of an authority. My wife would beg to differ.

I like the oil drainy thing. You'd be surprised how much oil will drain out of your meat. The grill is a great way to do up a quick lunch or dinner. I have the black and decker one and as far as I can tell, it works just like the other ones. But I've only used my B&D one ever, so I have no comparison for you.

Definitely buy one w/out the BBQ. I have a BBQ, and still use my foreman fairly often. Best thing ever for bacon!!!
make sure you buy a big one though. I have a small one which sucks, because it really can only cook 1 burger/steak at a time (possibly two depending on size).
The ripoffs are good, a few of my friends have them (hamilton beach I think they're called).

I got a Cuisenart grill for Christmas (And my roomie got a Foreman lol). It's really nice, you can use it for pretty much anything.

I find frozen chicken puts out a lot of water, too.
