I know... its the national enquirer, but it has been confirmed on numerous other sites.

Patrick Swayze has five weeks to live, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has learned.
In a shocking world exclusive, The NATIONAL ENQUIRER has uncovered the devastating news that the beloved Hollywood actor and dancer was diagnosed in late January with pancreatic cancer that has spread to other organs.
reuters doesn't make any reference to the time he has to live and fox news says this
Quote:
"Dirty Dancing" star Patrick Swayze has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer and might only have weeks to live, a rep for the actor told the New York Post's Page Six gossip column.
CNN has a link to People Magazine, where his physician ruled out any false 'timeframes' that other sources have been reporting, saying the cancer is confirmed, but the timeframes are "absolutely untrue."
Red Dawn was my favorite movie for a couple of years when I was 12 or 13. Swayze was so believable as a savy rocky mountain kid, which is what I fancied myself to be. Still a great movie.
And yeah..the Chippendale's (despite a horribly weak ending) is one of the funniest SNL bits ever.
If there's a curse I hope Sam Elliot is last on the list.

Redforever can't post right now but she has asked me to scold all of you making light of this situation.
Not quite a lollerskates. More of a Lolmonton. The Edmonton of Lols.
Around xmas, I caught Roadhouse on one of those american channels that plays 10 minutes of commercials for every 16 minutes of show.
It was cheesy, but kinda entertaining. But holy horse f'ers. Somebody just mentioned that Jeff Healy was in that movie. I must have been living under a rock. I didn't know that Healy was blind, I've never even seen a picture of him, and I didn't even notice that that was him in Roadhouse. I guess his voice isn't quite a Billy Corgan or Neil Young type voice that you'd pick out at any given time.
Anyway, I'd like to re-iterate my sentiments from the Healy thread and say that cancer sucks. Boooo to cancer.

Well I'll tell you this much, after watching my sister die from this horrible form of cancer, it won't be pretty. Because the pancreas is essentially what allows you to digest, you end up using your fat stores and then muscles as fuel. In addition, you pretty much stop getting hungry and as such, eating as well. So it's a sped up version of withering away.
My condolances to his family. It's a painful way to go.
Should clarify the reason I quoted... My sister was diagnosed and died approximated 4 months later. Who knows how a person can compare the stages between where my sister was and Patrick is, however it sounds like since his has spread, he's likely further along. However he weighs more, so he'll have more fuel to keep going for longer.
Sorry to be a downer on the thread. Was pretty funny before I got here.
