That's 20 minutes off work!

I'm 0/4 so far.

Your ratio there looks a lot like mine. Man, I can never seem to win even a donut.

Maybe all this bad luck over the years means we'll finally win... cars? On that note, I'm heading to Timmy's.

It's OK though. This one dude I work with is even more impatient than me and as a result he gave me $10 worth of TimHo's coupons he said he'd never use because although I PREFER not to wait, he staunchly REFUSES to wait (he drinks Second Cup - or, as I like to call it, Second Crap). His loss! Well my loss too (since I haven't won fack-all yet)!

It's always people who live in places like Guelph that win the big prizes. Tack a few days' driving time on to your 20 minute wait and you might be in the money.

Nah, the office is boring. 20 minutes in line you can listen to alot of interesting conversations, gossip about other co-workers, or start up a conversation of your own with a stranger!

The line-up for TimHo's at Gulf Canada Square is boring. If I do a coffee run there it's usually a solo-mission so the whole time I get to listen to the exciting yuppie adventures of the key-card crowd lining up with me:

Guy in checkered shirt tucked into jeans: So we fixed the deck.
Semi-attractive girl: Expensive?
Guy: Little pricey. Had some Tim Horton's at Rona.
Girl: All-weather stain?
Guy: Yeah.
Girl: Nice.
Guy: Yeah, not too bad.
Girl: So Dave came into town on the weekend.
Guy: How's Dave?
Girl: Not bad. He's renovating his basement.
Guy: Rona?
Girl: Yup.
Guy: Nice.
Girl: Yup.
Guy: Have you ever had a bagel BELT?
Girl: No.
Guy: Me neither.
Girl: ...
Guy: ...
Girl: ...
Guy: ...
Girl: ...
Guy: Did you watch Deal or No Deal last night?
Girl: No, we just sat at the kitchen table and stared off into space.
Guy: Oh.
Crazy little dude with the high pitched voice who works at Tim Horton's in Gulf Canada Square and I'm pretty sure he is a Tim Horton's Edition Robot because he is way too efficient and high-energy: HI THERE CAN I HELP YOU NEXT HI THERE CAN I TAKE YOUR ORDER THANK YOU!
Guy: ...
Girl: ...
Me: Hey, you guys are up.

That in itself is more exciting than sitting in the office.

^^Your office must really suck. I feel sorry for you. My office? Never a dull moment. A crazy lady came in there once and informed me that a) that she was a descendant of royal and/or holy bloodlines, b) just between the two of us she was coming into a multi-million dollar inheritance, and to confirm that all I needed to do was "call Linda at the other office, you know, the one by city hall," c) she was blind, d) she was deaf, and e) I should stop smiling because "it's not funny." She then unloaded a ransom of brochures, panphlets, random business cards, schedules, and street publications she had procured from, evidently, the entire downtown landscape, and proceeded to write something in a hand the likes of which I have never seen on a post-it note, folded it up, and told me to keep it safe.

Ah, the excitement you miss out on when you're bound by the key-card attached to your belt on the ill-fitting jeans you have tucked your checkered shirt into.

Anyways to keep this post on topic, I gave her a toonie, sent her to Tim Horton's, and later I saw her dancing on the street screaming "I won a boat!" So she inherited something after all.

My work place is always exciting too. We got a very unfaithful husband. And old drunk that gets beaten up every 2 or 3 months. A rotating cast of crack whores (who are sleeping with the unfaithful husband / owner and stealing money for, well crack). A ex gangster apprentice. The playa son of the unfaithful owner. I guy who only works under the table, when its convenient for him (he's going to gross 250K this year - just ask him). Did I mention the crack whores? And an on again of again secretary / pin cushion for the boss' other son. We also have cheques that bounce, customers who don't pay, neighbors that hate us, a bedroom upstairs next to the lunch room (really) and an accountant that seemed to miss putting 2 months of work on my T4. Plus he blamed the old drunk then me for damaging their company's sign for something entirely unrelated to the T4s. And all the women have a thing for getting into small accidents with the company truck.

Oh, and me. I get to run the place when the boss decides to tune out and / or chase some tail.

The total number of people working there? Between 4 and 7. It depends who shows up. 14 years in business and never a dull moment.

Well, I haven't lined up for one everyday but I did buy coffee twice since it started

1/2 on Remembering to roll it up, 0/1 on winning anything.

Have to brag about this one:

I don't like Tim Hortons coffee much and therefore never buy a RUTRTW, but on Friday I walked into the Rozsa Centre at the U of C and lo and behold, see an empty cup, unrolled, on a heat register. Not seeing anyone nearby, I grabbed the cup and began rolling (while remarking to the person I was with, "wouldn't it be funny if this one turned out to be a winner?").

Sure enough, I won a coffee

I think that makes me the Roll up the Rim to Win champ - only guy to win something without having "entered the contest" so to speak

Well at least you didn't win one of the boats. Now that would have really choked me! One less for me to have a chance of winning.
Congrats on winning a coffee that you don't really like though.....

What about the kid who found that cup in the garbage at school, rolled it, and won a car? Then the janitor took him to court saying it was his cup.

A bit OT, but several years ago, a cousin of mine threw out the winning Boardwalk piece in McDonalds Monopoly. No joke.

I guess the lesson is, check before you throw it out!
