The Habs squeak out a win against the Ducks in overtime, with Loui Eriksson scoring the OT winner. It's ironic Eriksson scored it, he's been on a tear with the Stars lately.

Blues down the Preds 3-2. It was a rough game as the teams combined for 15 power play opportunities. Sami Salo is the hero as he scores with just over 2 minutes left in the game to win it. Curtis Sanford makes 21 saves to get the win.
The Blues were without Emery, Kessel and Ouellet this game as they were all sat to rest up injuries. GM Spike Jarvis was a bit worried about his goal tending with Emery hurt, so he pulled off a deal with the Sabres to pick up veteran net minder Marc Denis. Denis leaves Buffalo in style with a 36 save shut out.
Sorry bout your damn luck there loooob

You know you're not a contender when....
-you can't beat the Jets
-when you go 1 for 10 on the powerplay against the Jets and can't score an even strength goal.

Big win as the offense continues to roll. Trailing 6-4 with 3 mins left in the second the Pens poured it on and Nash potted 2 3rd period goals to give the Pens a 7-6 win. With the win the Pens stayed 6 points up on 9th place.

Thrashers were up 2-1 after 40 but got TWO 5 minute major penalties in the 3rd and the Senators scored FIVE powerplay goals in the 3rd period with the Thrashers being shorthanded for 10 minutes to win the game 6-2. Great job by the Sens converting on their chances.

Ouch! Sharks fail to pick up the win and remain in 7th, now 3 points back or the Wings. Not looking good for a chance to move any higher with only 12 games left.
Why did we lose this game? Apparently it must have had something to do with the loss of Malik to injury midway through the first. After going up 2-0 less than a minute after losing him, we never scored again and gave up 3 goals over the next two periods. Worst part is, no Wing was ejected for his injury as it was apparently self inflicted or the ref didn't see the blatant intent to injure!
Good new is, with Cheechoo coming back, we will have that much more help to make up for the loss of Malik. Look for the top line to come out firing on all cylinders next game against the Devils!

With just one point separating us from the Sharks that was as big of a win as any. Kinda concerning me that my 1st and 2nd line haven't gotten a goal in two games now., Or since the big Tanguay trade. Its again Antopov, Connolly and Paille getting all the goals.
Wont complain to much seeing as we still got the win.
Turco continues to be red hot as he was named the second star. Another solid effort against a Sharks team full of firepower.
This is a franchise record 7th win in a row. And its been 12 games since the Wings have lost a game in regulation.

Finally a win by the Flyers. Of course all the teams we are chasing win as well so we are no further along than we were yesterday. After numerous chacnes Hasek finally comes through with a decent game. The top players played alright and with the inept Noob at the controls the Isles did the rest to ensure the Flyers win.
Ryan Johnson was injured in the game, which was impressive considering he played a whole 5 minutes. He will be a tough guy to replace in the line-up as there are few players in this league that can sit on the bench like him.
The Flyers have very little time to enjoy the victory as they will face the all tough Carolina Hurricanes in Raleigh tomorrow night.

Outshoot the habs but Raycroft has a solid win and sneaks out an OT win. Was a very close game in every facet really, unlike the junior game where we lost 11-2!

You'll be sad to hear the Dany will be sitting out his first game of a five game hooking suspension. Love to see the hook, to get 12 minutes and 5 games, had to be a old time hockey hook just like Eddie Shore

^That hook put Mike Rathje out of the lineup for about a week. Must've been a hook to the eyeball.

tired fernandez wins again! Good game vs the devils and a good win considering our defense situation. 3-2 win outshooting them 33-27. Panthers sit alone in 3rd place 6 points back of the Bruins.
Hopefully we get a few days off to recover from our injuries and for the suspension to magically disappear

Well Doug Murrays head butt spurs on a Nordique rally from 2-0 down to earn a tie with the Jackets. Shortly after Murray returned to the ice more good stuff goes down as Rhett Warrener charged Freddie Sjostrom and took out Sjostrom and his own player Sami Kapanen. Although Kapanen was coughing up blood and in obvious discomfort Nords coach Jacques Lemaire knowing his team is razor thin in depth and had already lost Rhett Warrener makes Kapanen suffer in the box for 5 minutes to serve the penalty before he was allowed to be rushed to the Emergency Room.
Tommorrow will be fun considering 4 of my better forwards are all injured in Barnes, Novotny, Sjostrom, and Cogliano. I don't even have enough players left to field a fricken team. Hopefully a couple of these pansies will recover enough tommorrow for me to bring them off IR.

WDf? Denis who has been terrible all year, gets his last start as a Sabre, is traded this afternoon and then plays one last game as a Sabre stopping all 36 Ave shots and being named first star. guess the Blues get a gooder after all

1158 OILERS 8 LIGHTNING 2
Another victory for the Oilers with a patchwork defence although Bryce Salvador was back in the lineup for this one, as was Martin Brodeur. Not much to say other than this was a good old fashioned butt-kicking, with the scoring well spread around (except for Lecavalier who mysteriously was held off the point sheet). Roman Hamrlik and Craig Rivet both finished with +5 ratings.
Hamrlik's goal was interesting:
5. OILERS, KAPANEN 11 (ROBITAILLE, GRIER), 14:50
6. OILERS, HAMRLIK 9 (ROBITAILLE, GRIER), 14:51
Here's what happened. Having just scored a goal, Niko Kapanen was overly excited in the faceoff circle and was tossed out. Mike Grier won the faceoff in his place and the puck quickly squirted out sideways, rapidly deflecting off Randy Robitaille's stick before heading back to Roman Hamrlik's position. Hamrlik was already winding up for the slapshot and fired the puck off in the blink of an eye which went all the way across centre ice and over Jason Labarbera's shoulder at the other end of the ice. Thus, goals one second apart. Labarbera was then pulled from the Tampa net for his ineptitude.
The Oilers have a meeting with the Penguins tomorrow.
