Rhettzky, I think I finally agree with the split. It certainly solves the too many guys problem. Now that we have 3 ladies on board it is not too much of a stretch to think we will have one or two more pop out of the woodwork. Only need three for that Kokanee Sunday night League, and if that is where and when, then I have little doubt in bringing out any we need. So we need a minimum total of 7.
So the next step is splitting up the people. I think, without looking at my notes that Kerplunk and RicoFlame were more interested in north. FireFly seemed interested in Shawnski's League. Correct me if I am wrong, FireFly, but is it easier for you to get to Crescent Hts and NE than to Optimist?
I will have to look at the PM's but many people stressed they wanted the Optimist no matter what. I will make a list (and check it twice).
Next issue is that we have no guarantee of getting in to the Sunday Optimist League. I am away shortly for the weekend, but will call NSA and ask them again. (I am waiting for answers to my emails...)

I will contact everyone on the list, by email or PM, this AM and ask where you'd rather play. Next if we have too many for one option or the other, then we go by the order signed up to thread on page one. I will ask Redvan to edit first page to reflect the people who have also expressed interest.

The more important question is how many ladies we will have after they meet us. Especially if we ask one of them to wear the catcher's mask...

Haven't heard back from everyone yet, but have PM'd everyone on the list from 1 to 24. Except myself.
We have 8-9 guys committed to the south, so that is sort of full. People may drop out so there could be openings...

Team South so far (bearing in mind not all have confirmed)

 Redvan
 Aeneas
 Sportsjunky
 troutman
 rubecube
 Flameskickass
 Flamesinyoureyes
 4x4
 RinkRat13
 Banffgirl
 Rhettzky
I will provide 2-3 other girls if needed

Now for Team North some of this is confrmed and some speculation on my part (just waiting to hear)

 Fredr123
 Resolute 14
 Captain Crunch
 Cowboy89
 KevanGuy
 Kerplunk
 x RicoFlame
 FireFly
 x Temporary User
 x Obs

x means I have not confirmed, but makes sense due to geography or past comments.
I know one girl that may want to play, she lives north central and is always stressed and late for our Wednesday Optimist team. She is lots of fun.

Will update as I get responses.

We should enter both teams in the same tournament this summer. Maybe one of those camping/softball weekends they do in Nanton or even Revelstoke.

Just heard back from NSA who runs Kokanee Sunday Night League.Have a verbal agreement that we are in.
However need to get the deposit in early next week.
Half of League fees due Thursday March 6th.

So, if we go with 9 guys and 4 girls it will cost $105.77 each.

We can pursue sponsorship money from a pub if we wish. Troutman has approached Pete's Peanuts Pub. If that falls through I can ask Eddie Bo Deans. It could mean $500 off. So that would be $67.31 each. Oh the $125 is refundable at end of year.

Anybody work DT NE and want to visit NSA to pay deposit? Especially someone that has $125 sitting around waiting to be spent?

Or should we organize anothe Flames game / meeting to gather funds?

We should see if Shawnski will let our south team in the Lyalta tourney June 5, 6, 7. That would be fun, assuming the north team would already be in!
Shawnski?

Have not heard from Pete's Pub. The firm will put $500 towards jerseys for the south team. Can try Eddie's, Shilleleaghs, Sionachie, Bottom's Up etc.

Wouldn't it make more sense to sponser the north team since that's where your law firm is?

Huge thanks to the firm tROUTMAN, but just a thought.
For $500 you could with maybe a little player input, get 25 shirts, and thus dress two teams. I am no marketing/advertising guru. but I think that would near double your exposure for the same expenditure. Your jerseys would be on 4 diamonds not just two.

Have had some interest in a thread I started regarding logo designs, with at least one offer to design. Thread called, "Need creative input" or something.

Back to the original point, one of the quotes I had was for 20 units, cost 500. The cost per unit may go down when you get up to 25 units. I will ask them. But really 5 more shirts will cost another 100 or so, so we ask every player to throw in 5 bucks. Pretty cheap to get a jersey.

Thanks again to tROUTMAN. Will try to get in trouble this summer to avail myself of your firm's services.

Sure, if the $500 can equip both teams, make it so. I'd like to see user names on the back. I can't remember all your real names.

We may want final approval of logo and team name; nothing too politically incorrect.
