Dilbert cartoons go after company that fired man for posting Dilbert cartoons
Scott Adams fires back:
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/app...0382/1001/NEWS
Surprised the guy who got fired only petitioned for UI benefits. He should have sued for his full severance package.
Which leads me to a question... how many of you cubicle dwellers have Dilbert cartoons posted on their walls?
I've got four... two of which attack management, and two of which attack the customer from a tech support perspective. Nobody's complained yet.

As a tech support drone, I formerly had to deal with lots of marketing and accounting type employees who would show up at my desk unannounced with their home PC (not company property!) and ask that I fix it (for free, naturally).
So I printed off this Dilbert strip and posted it in a prominent position in my work area:
The requests ended soon thereafter.

Wow, so the dude got fired for posting Dilbert Cartoons?
Is office humour truly dead?
I was tempted to make a comment regarding the religious leanings of the manager that fired this employee, but I'll leave it at a vague inference.

I use Dilbert cartoons occasionaly in newsletters, with management signing off on them.
Someone is definitely too anal - or probably paranoid and pointy-haired - at a company where you can get fired for putting them on a wall.

It really depends on the office atmosphere, and often more importantly, the industry.
Some industries/atmospheres are much more anal retentive than others. If you have a strict dress code and permeating management, odds are posting anything the least bit humorous is not allowed.
In my office, anything that one could find in the Herald would be easily accepted. It would take something very lowbrow and ribold to cause any stir. Its a fairly easygoing, down to earth industry sector though.

I have a Dilbert 365-day calander, and I regularily wander over to the analysts in the other department and post some of the funny one's on their white board.
Maybe I should stop.....nahhhhhh.

There are always Dilbert comics posted around the office.
And Garfield comics on the fridge!

Between Calvin and Hobbes, Dilbert and the far side, that was the golden age of newspaper basd comics.

Isn't there a saying along the lines of, "You know you're in
management when you no longer find Dilbert funny."
