Default Ebay Payment Question

(not sure if this should be in the tech forum...)

I've been selling a few items on ebay and I've recently had a buyer request to pay through a bank to bank payment. This would include giving me the bank identification code and my "international" bank account number...

I have two questions...is this safe? And if it is, do I need an "international" account or just my regular RBC account work?

Thanks CP.

For international I only take Paypal. Too many other potential issues to avoid by accepting anything else.

I used to also accept USPS money orders, but I prefer the immediate payment as opposed to waiting 2 weeks for the MO to arrive.

Yeah, make sure to specify PayPal only in the auction. It's widely accepted enough now, the buyer shouldn't have an issue.

Sounds fishy to me. There are just too many scammers lurking on ebay to play it anything other than safe.

PayPal only.

Yeah sounds too fishy, while I understand that some people have legit beefs with paypal there's other ways.. western union or whatever (though with western union, bidpay, etc there's not as much protection for the buyer but that's his problem).

He "sends the money", you see it in your account, you send the item, 2 months later after the bank foils out the accounting you end up with the money being taken back out of your account.

This was a big scam for international renters in rental units a while back wasn't it? Renter would give a large amount in a bank draft for the security deposit and ask for some cash back, you give the cash, then the initial draft disappears after the banks foil out the fraud.
