Default Need help with a .gif/.wmv

I have no idea how to make .gifs. I'm looking for something very simple, just a flashing red to black to red gif, or even a .wmv file. I'm going to be using it on a video I'm cutting together. How would I go about doing it?

Here's how to create an animation in photoshop:

Create a black square on layer one.

Create a new layer.

Create a red square on layer 2.

Go to Window menu > Animation

This will pop up a window that is essentially a timeline of frames. The first frame will be populated with whichever layers are visible so;

Make your Frame one the red square by making layer two visible (eye icon in layer pallet)

Click the duplicate frame button at the bottom of the animation window

You will know have 2 identical frames.

Make sure frame 2 is highlighted and in your Layer Pallet, turn off layer 2 (red) and turn on layer one (black)

Hit play in the animation window.

You can make adjustments to timimg and add tweens as well.
