I give him credit for stepping forward and taking responsibility for his actions.

Hopefully others will do the same.

I agree. His excuse seems a little convient, but at least he admitted it.

If it was truly on 2or4 times over two days (I actually believe him) and it was HGH not steroids, and he was in fact on the DL, then he should not be reprimanded and his legacy should be untarnished. Apparently the "2 days" is consistent with what the trainer said, honestly this is no big deal and we should let it go.

I am not sure I believe Andy, because every cheat has an excuse, but he really seems like an honest guy and is not someone I would have ever thought to associate with PED's. Either way I respect the guy for coming out and owning up to something. I am not sure if any of you heard D. Justice's radio interview, I think with Colin Cowheard of Espn - but he was trying to use the fact that he had a bad season the year after he was reported to have started using PED's as a reason why he couldnt have taken them. Haha David good one. I buy lotto tickets all the time, I have never won, doesnt prove the lottery is fixed though.

The convinent part did cross my mind. I'm sure Andy and other players were caught off guard by the report and had to do soome quick thinking in an effort to put out the fire.

It will be interesting to hear what Clemens has to say, or wether he'll hide behind his lawyer and let him do the legal talk.

I dont care what he says. His head is the size of a small planet and he has been playing WAY WAY to good for his age. Conditioning is great and all, but it wont make a 45 year old look 25 again though.

How does Chelios keep playing into his 40s? Why does he have such a sparkling personality?

To be fair, Fehr and the MLBPA need to be strung up right beside Selig. Even the piss poor initial steps to deal with the problem by Selig were stonewalled by by the union until the government stepped in.

I dont know. You want my guess...PED's. No evidence, and I am not saying it is so, but thats what I would put my money on.

he's playing, but is he a standout anymore? He's a bottom pairing guy, no more, no less.

Curt Schilling offers his opinion on some specific people named in the report on his blog. Such candor from a professional player not named Gilbert Arenas is kind of refreshing.

Good read:

Say what you want about Jose, and there are things I disagree with and think he’s wrong about, but I have yet to find someone he’s named who’s NOT been guilty or tried to clear their name. The view I have on that is maybe a bit too simplistic but I look at it like this. If Jose had named me in his book, it would have taken about 20 minutes for me to issue a press release vehemently denying the allegations, which would have been as closely followed as possible by as large a legal action as I could have possibly taken to sue for slander, libel, defamation of character and anything else I’d have been able to legally do. It’s either that, or I’m guilty. There is no gray area here, you either did, or you didn’t and Jose, up through today, hasn’t called out anyone that’s sued his ass off for false representation, slander, libel or whatever you would do if someone said something like this about you, that you didn’t do.

[Roger] -there aren’t many options as a fan for me other than to believe his career 192 wins and 3 Cy Youngs he won prior to 1997 were the end. From that point on the numbers were attained through using PED’s. Just like I stated about Jose, if that is the case with Roger, the 4 Cy Youngs should go to the rightful winners and the numbers should go away if he cannot refute the accusations.

Zaun breaks silence on inclusion in Mitchell Report:
http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Baseball/M...850795-cp.html

Quote:
According to the report, Radomski said he believed Zaun was referred to him by pitcher Jason Grimsley and received a cheque from the catcher for US$500 worth of Deca-Durabolin and Winstrol back when he was with the Royals in 2001.

A scanned image of the cheque was included in the report and Zaun explained that by saying he probably owed Grimsley $500 - perhaps for losing a bet on a basketball game, but he can't recall exactly - and wrote him a blank cheque to cover the amount.

Zaun believes Grimsley, his Kansas City teammate at the time, passed the cheque on to Radomski to buy steroids. He points to what appears to be two different styles of writing on the cheque to support his claim.
